Sometimes i dryburn the rba coil but it happend now with a new coil on the rba section tommorow i have the subox in the mail its the first time i have a mod with not a build in battery if it happend again on this mod that the lead melt or short coil is that dangerous with a 18650 battery in it i know the subox have some protections on it but just to be sure i asking
As long as it happens on a regulated mod, such as the subox you should be fine as long as the protection works as it should.
On a mechanical however a hard short is realy bad.
I'm glad you started with a regulated mod (as most new people to rebuilding and vaping as a whole, should do.)
Make sure the coil isn't touching any other metal and you're good to go. Also a standalone ohm-meter is great to use, because it'll show if the coil is shorted, then you know that you need to look for any errors even before firing it up for the first time.
Altho afaik most regulated shouln't even be firing a shorted coil to begin with. (Should just say "atomizer short" or similar message, or blink if it has no display.) So maybe it was fine until it got heated for abit then expanded and shorted due nearby metal. Or that you didn't tighten down the coil enough so the leg came loose.
The RBA deck is quite small for the subtank so it's abit finicky until you've mastered the ways of building.
