I received this e-mail from National Vapors club today. Edited on this post for space.

Happy New Year vapers! For many of us… this means another new year
smoke free! Some very exciting things have happened and are happening
in the new year for National Vapers Club this year!

In 2010…

The movie “The Tourist” with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie had a
HUGE focus on the e-cigarette. It was amazing to see an e-cigarette on
the big screen as such a big part of a major motion picture and being
used by an icon like Johnny Depp! The movie was actually pretty good
too… we highly recommend seeing it!

At the links below… you can find some info and discussion on the
FDA appeals hearing. We explained in our last newsletter that the FDA
had lost the appeal, but they have filed a request for a rehearing and
rehearing en banc and also filed a motion asking that the stay be
reinstated pending a rehearing. However, it is unclear whether or not
they are actually able to do this.

The usual alphabet groups have filed an amicus brief on behalf of the
FDA. They have also had to ask for an invitation to file the brief, as
filing one is not permitted unless you are invited. So far there has
been no word from the court as to whether or not they will accept the
brief. We view this as grasping at straws and hope the court does too.

This year, in 2011…

We will start allowing subchapters of NVC to start affiliation with <- <- <- <-
NVC and become a part of something bigger. <- <- <-<-

We will begin data collection next week for IVAQS on January 11th
thanks to your generous donations and raffle ticket purchases.

The arrows to the right point to my question to you our members. Do we want to officially become a sub chapter of the National Vapors Club ? Hay, I Know. I thought we already were too. Guess we were wrong. But the question still remains. Do we want to. Personally, I think we should. But I can not and will not act on our behalf without the input of our more active members. I need you now people !!! Sorry but " No way cause Spikey is a .... " won't have any bearing here. I need constructive input now. I'm giving this a one week time for our input. Then I will act based on what I see here. So it's time to chime in. Please do.

I do not think you have much active membership here to even bother with this. It would be nice to be proved wrong here. But during the last NJ vapers meet I put together, which 50 NJ vapers said they would attend, we only had 15 who showed up, and maybe one member was from here.

Well you replied smokie. So it's a good start. As for who attends events. Lots start out with all intent of attending these functions then something gets in the way for one reason or another. That is why I don't re-lie on RSVP. Last years beach bash was nothing to right home about but I will do it again this year and if you do show up, you got a beer coming from me for your efforts thus far. You are persistence, and persistence is key. I'll save the rest of my ideas for a face off with you. But, longer lead times won't hurt too. But for this Thread. I am not the Lord Almighty for the Dirty Jersey Vapors Club. So I want input from the membership before I act in the best interest for this club. And I will act regardless. But some point of views from our membership would be nice to give me some guidance. So Smokie, What do you think ? Do you want to be a bona fide sub chapter of the NVC ? Your view is important. You are a very active member here. I wish I had more like you willing to "pony up" for the vaping community. I was under the impression we already were a bona fide sub chapter. If not, I feel we should be since alot of the Bans started right here in New Jersey. So what do you think ? And Why ?

Wow, 42 viewed this thread and no one cares to make a comment ? This is Sad. Look people, I hear vapers complaining all the time about how the Government is taking our right to vape over the right to smoke away. Bans are already here in New Jersey as to where we can and can't vape and are cropping up elsewhere. I see large organizations with loads of money pushing there unreasonable agenda to fund the so called science for this crap. We need to organize, Educate our self's to the facts, And act. Taking a stand and acting from there is the most important thing we can do to protect our rights at this point in time. The DC decision was only a battle. We have not won the war. Not by a long shot. Personally I don't care where We Aline ourself 's But we do need to organize and educate. Thats all I got to say for now except for the fact I'm really disappointed with all of our so called membership with their apathy. Now that is pathetic.

Thanks Placebo Effect for your input. I too think we should be . OK people, we got two for and one undecided ( Based on his post ). So what do you think ? Nothing from nothing, but at the very least Smokie pony's Up his own money to provide a place where we can have a meet, He purchases the Mods to raffle off. Personally I think based on attendance he would be lucky if he covers his cost. So, What are you doing besides complaining. I see too many vapors in the wild to beleave we don't got the numbers. And I will not even bring them to THIS DEAD ZONE till I see more activity. So what do you got to bring to the table ?
