I was really surprised to see that they approved a menthol flavored vape product. I didn't think that would ever happen.

I read the yahoo news article first and was shocked to read "Two of the products are refillable pods used with the ACE vaping device." I thought OMG, I can't believe they approved a refillable device. Now they need to approve some juices.

Of course, then I read the FDA news release that said "The two authorized ACE products are sealed, pre-filled, non-refillable pods that are used with the previously authorized ACE device, and the two authorized DAILY products are disposable e-cigarettes with a prefilled, non-refillable e-liquid reservoir." What a letdown. Yahoo was wrong.

I Didn't even notice that in the Yahoo article. I always read the FDA Statement 1st. Then skim the News Outlet article.

I've seen so many Errors over the Years. Many from authors with very Limited Knowledge. And some from those who Intentionally Twist what the FDA says or does.

---

When it comes to the Menthol Policy Debate, it just seems so Obvious what the WH is trying to do. And that things like an e-Cigarette Approval are cards that are held in a PR directors hand. Some to be Played to make-up ground with a certain Demographic. Or to shift the Media Spotlight Focus onto something more controllable. Or sometimes just to be played to give the appearance that they are actually doing something.

Not much has to do with Urgency and or Health at the Population level. At least not in Non-Election Years.

Yeah, the FDA wanted to ban menthol cigarettes as well as ecigs, but the White House put a stop to it, so they didn't lose votes in a certain demographic group.

Well there’s “ contains menthol” and there’s “menthol flavored”. They’re not necessarily the same. Actual menthol crystals have issues, but those flavors may not actually contain them. A second question though is who got allowed and how? I don’t remember who owns Njoy. I couldn’t figure out which 4 by reading the article. If they’re all actually owned by US or EU tobacco companies one of three things could be happening:
A. Really large tobacco companies are reaping rewards from being too cheap to use real menthol
B. Extensive lobbying has given them an advantage
C. some combination of A and B

Theyre claiming science based stuff though. For that to work there has to be something.

And who owns Altria? That’s a name I don’t remember hearing before. There may be multiple levels till you get to actual stuff

The Elevator doesn't go much Higher.

You're kinda at the Top of the Food Chain with Altria BT-wise.

Fair enough. Seems Altria is Phillip morris. That name I DO remember. “Moving beyond smoking” my left hind hoof. I’ll take “we don’t care what you do as long as WE control it and you can only come to US. BTW we also decide what you pay..and it’s a lot” though.

theres a motivation to get to zero. Be shut of those DBs
