menthol crystals: alternitive to using alcohol?

i really want to use menthol crystals to add to my juice, but prefer not to use alcohol to break them down because i am a recovering alcoholic, i plan to add them to 80/20 pg/vg juice. i dont want them reforming in my juice. what do i do?

I assume that your issue with alcohol is that you would have to buy a bottle. A small amount with a high concentration of menthol isn't something that should worry you because it would be basically impossible to get intoxicated from and wouldn't taste or smell like alcohol....

There are some vendors that sell pre-mixed menthol. Menthol Drops [Mnth_DR_8mL] - $4.00 : JuicyLiquid.com, DIY E-Liquid and Accessories! is currently sold out, but their price isn't too bad. Perhaps a community member who has an excess of the stuff will volunteer to mail you some. I would if I still had much or if it was a higher concentration.

Also, some people just mix crystals directly into their juice. I wouldn't unless I was mixing a large batch, though.

You could also use water, but the solubility is poor at anything below boiling. You would probably have to reheat the menthol/water mix every time you use it and you would still end up with a lot of water (>=5%) in your juice.

i mixed my crystal with PG. just takes a while but they will dissolve. Shake, Stir, reapeat- repeat - repeat-repeat...you get the idea.

I've had no problem putting one crystal in my bottle of juice. I mix up about 6ml of juice and add one crystal to it. You can add it to a pg/vg mixture and place the bottle in a glass of hot water to dissolve the crystals.

I also put mine in vg to dissolve, and I have read where some dissolve it in a bit of distilled water.
