menthol, RY4, tobacco juice - opinions?

Hi there,

I've never been a fan of tobacco flavored carts. However, I don't think I've ever REALLY given it a chance.

For analogues, I smoked mainly Marlboro Menthol Lights/Smooths, Kool Milds, and non menthols were most always Marlboro Blend 27's or Camel Turkish Gold's.

My first PV had a Camel flavored cart that came with it. I took 3 hits, and threw it out. It was horrid. Tasted like vapeing horse poo. ECK. Granted, this was a factory pre-filled cart, and not a standalone ejuice.

I see so many people who prefer Marlboro juice or RY4 and 555's. I'm especially tempted by RY4 for some reason. However, I think I'm imagining the taste all wrong. I'm a bit hesitant to give it a shot, but with so many people enjoying it, I'm starting to think that cart was just filled with bad juice.

Any reccomendations?

555 - Very smooth, nutty, not too sweet, but definitely not harsh or nasty, a really mild, pleasant flavour IMO, it is my main vape...I use more of this than anything else.

RY4 - This stuff is just "sweet" I'm still not sure what it tastes like after vaping it for several weeks....caramel, syrup, jam? I do enjoy it when I want a sweet, non-tobacco hit though. Probably my second favorite juice

Virginia - I find that I like this when I want a tobacco-like hit, maybe a good option if you get a craving for a real smoke, but still (IMO) not harsh or nasty.

Menthol - Never a big fan of menthol cigs, but didn't hate them either, I bought it for a cooler hit when the mood takes me, it's pleasant and cool, sort of what I expected really, I don't use it a lot, but enjoy it when I do use it. A nice flavour to have around when you want a change.

Marlboro/US Mix - I just don't like this, too dry, tastes nasty (even though I've cut it with one quater of RY4), only vaping it to get rid of it, won't buy it again.


All in my own opinion and reflecting my own tastes of course.

I agree about the Marlboro.

Turkish: Smooth, nice throat hit. I taste something akin to thyme, maybe sage...it's an under-taste, very light. I like it.

Original tobacco. (Sometimes just "tobacco") VERY nice, my all day vape. Well blended, all the notes just meld together for a wonderful vape.

Winston: a bit more "tobacco-y" than the tobacco. Nice for after meals or first vape of the morning when you need that extra flavor.

French pipe: OMG! I got one bottle as a sample. It is under lock and key with 2 armed guards. I'm not sharing. Smooth and mellow with some kind of flavors that I can't put my finger on, but this is heaven. It's too complex to vape all day, but to just veg and contemplate the world late at night, I love this. I'm ordering a half-liter as soon as my Christmas shopping is done wrecking my budget.

I've never used menthol as I'm not fond of any kind of mint-ish flavors, so dunno about that. I did have a "peppermint" trial bottle that took my breath away (not in a good way...kinda like Eclipse gum does)

Edit: Forgot Kent: Sweet. I don't like it, it's too sweet for me, but this is hubby's favorite all day vape. Not nutty like RY, just sweet.

I absolutely love RY4. It is also part of one of my favorite tobacco flavored juices, which is combination of Camel/Tobacco/RY4 at 50/30/20 percentages.

As you didn't like the Camel, I've seen other posts where people regularly vape Marlboro with RY4.

I use the 'tobacco' flavor when at home but have a small bottle of 555 that I take to work. The tobacco is a little lighter and smoother than the 555 but both have a great flavor. I understand we have some French Pipe that I didn't know about so I will have to give it a try!

My winston is from Dawn (I thought that was ecigsmokestore.com but my browser won't open it) love here, love her. I got double strength 48mg and cut with 24mg unflavored. It's perfect!!!

My french pipe is from somewhere I won't discuss cause they don't carry 36mg anymore but Beci has it and I'll order some from him next payday.
