I want to adopt Ms. Claus. You know she keeps things running around here, and I bet she has mad baking skills. I can cook, but baking's hard .LOL. I was whining to my mom about my inability to make bread (my husband can, he even WATCHED me do it-- nope, I guess my alcoholism causes yeast to melt when I look at it). But I was like ,"I've tried everything and I feel like a failure at LIFE for not doing it!"
"Honey, I've never even TRIED to bake bread, and for goodness's sake, you can pick up bread at any grocery store, for heaven's sake!"
"I know that is what makes me feel like a failure! Even the Safeway staff can bake it, it's everywhere!"

Ms. Cluas for the win, and also, no one asks me to "make" them a birthday cake anymore... I'm forbidden, even if it's in a box. LOL.

I... Umm..but...Okay. Reading that made me want to load up my backing supplies and come see this for myself. Then it hit me you are in AZ so umm yeah sorry but that is one of two states I will never go to. However, lack of baking skill does not make you a failure in life unless you go back in time to the 50s.

It's bad. I think baking requires a level of precision I just don't have. One time, for the husband's birthday I forgot I put the butter in the cake and did it twice. LOL. And, I swear, I can cook most everything else, but I am not favored in the baking people's eyes. LOL. I did bake with the kid, but found out (like the husband) he's a very proficient baker. Even from an early age, he's say things like "Mom, step away from the cupcake baking pan, you always use too much." LOL.

I'm okay not baking, honest, I have plenty to do shoving a meal on the table. LOL.
