Messed up my order for diy supplies -_-

I've decided to switch to DIY due to a 30ml bottle of local juice costing me $15. I go through it in 3 days, so Its a pretty expensive habit.

Im also switching over to mostly unflavored juice, due to my lungs feeling weird. So I ordered 250ml of 12mg vg and 250ml of 12mg pg. Along with this I ordered a bottle of menthol flavoring. I trust menthol in my lungs more than most of these other flavors.

I accidently ordered Menthol Eucalyptus tho. And doing research, it looks like the Eucalyptus is oil based. Which seems like it won't be good to use.

So my question here,1oz of USP grade menthol crystals is 3 bucks shipped on eBay. Can I just buy these and dissolve a bit of it in my juice? Will the crystals dissolve themselves or do I need heat? I figure with all the menthol juice out there, there has to be a good way to do this lol

Menthol is very strong, and is usually used at around .1-.5% (yes that is point one to point five percent) in mixes. Generally, you'll want to start off with a 10% solution in PG, and then use 1-5% of that in your final mix. So for example, take 1g of menthol crystals and dissolve in 10ml of PG, then use 1-5ml of that mixture per 100ml of juice. Your 1oz of crystals (28g) should last you a good long while, at that rate. If the crystals don't dissolve fully just by stirring/agitation, you can run the bottle or whatever under some hot water to help them along. Just make sure you don't get any water in the mixture.

BWH nailed it. Just sprinkling a few crystals into your mix is pretty much a crapshoot. You may get lucky but it's incredibly hard to fine tune a mix that way.

I bought an ounce of menthol crystals from myfreedomsmokes. It came in four 1/4 ounce packets. 1 ounce is 28 grams, so I put two of the packets (14 grams) in a 30ml bottle. Then added 15 ml of PG and shook well. Most of the crystals dissolved but not all. I then placed the bottle in a sink full of hot tap water for about 15 minutes and the crystals dissolved completely. They have never re-crystallized. Based on the above formula, what I have is more than a 10% solution. But I only have to put a drop or two per ml to get the menthol taste. If I'm going for a straight menthol, I use 1-2% and I still have about 20ml of the original mix after 5 months.
