Metal vs other drip tip - taste differences?

I like acrylic. The metal ones taste funny to me and if it's cold I don't want to be touching any metal.

So far my favorites are Pyrex, silicon, and ceramic, but I am wondering if the grade of steel has anything to do with taste. I've noticed that some steel drip tips impart a tiny bit of metallic flavor to the vape, but other steel drip tips do not.

I can only taste mystery 'stainless.' Genuine, medical grade stainless- like from Cherry vape; I don't taste at all. There is a world of difference between $2 drip tips and $20 drip tips- at least for me.

I've not had a problem myself but a lot of people claim that the metallic taste on some of the kanger products is actually residue left over from the machining process and can be be gotten rid of by giving them a good wash using soap and a thorough rinse after.

I prefer the delrin tips for a totally different reason, my cat likes to jump up on my lap and rub against my hand just as I'm taking a toot off my mod, I don't know how many times he's jammed my protank against my teeth.

I prefer SS and as get no funky taste and like the coldness on lips with the warm vape.

I'm with Impulso - I don't like the cold feel (anyone want a $22 titanium tip? ) - I like the plastic because it's closer to the same feel as an analogue.

I don't mind metal but I prefer Delrin plastic. Meanwhile I have mostly metal tips on my vaping devices.. I don't how this stuff happens.

edit: I think it's because metal looks cooler.

Derlin is a really strong plastic used to make more solid parts, like gears for RC helis. Similar to Acrylic in that respect but resistances to different chemicals than acrylic. The difference between either and a bic pen tube is quite a bit.

I can actually smell certain grades of stainless steel, if that makes sense, it's weird. Specially a freshly sanded piece of steel, something about the metal in it, I can just sense it. It doesn't bother me though.

I don't use my aluminum tips anymore because of the skin-collecting quality mentioned. I will still give steel a try when I get my PT2
