Has anyone else tried this? I bought a spool of 28ga, which is really a bit big for most of my needs, but I've been playing with it some.
My first build I did three four wraps in series at 2.2 ohms, it was too much for me. I had to either take three or four drags to get it going or crank up the voltage and burn the juice.
The build I did tonight, I'm really liking so far. It's two four wraps at 1.5 ohms and seems to heat up and vape pretty good, for my tastes at least!
This is in a kayfun clone on a Provari.
My logic behind this build was that the smaller coils would heat faster, and leaving them in series would still keep it above sub-ohm to work on VV mods.
Just was curious if anyone else had tried or thought of this and what their thoughts were/

Just do 1 coil,8 wraps, heats up faster with the same ohms, what would you think separating into 2 separate coil rolls accomplishes?

First, I guesstimate ( have not a wind tunnel) air flow path.
Second, I build coil that is slightly wider than air flow path.
I figure long micro coils are wasteful if ends have dead air flow.

Are your series micro coils positioned such a way that you suspect most of the coil surface has good air flow?

This is in a KFL, so in a sense it is in a wind tunnel, and I have them centered off the side of the air intake.

Well, it was a neat theory, but didn't work out so well in practice. After a tank of juice, and the gunk build up that 710 seems to create in anything, it just wasn't all that.
It got to where I was having a constant burnt taste, one coil was heating faster than the other. I'm not sure which leg it was, sorry, but there was a distinct difference between them when dry burning.
But hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained! I sure didn't lose anything trying it out!
