I've modified these switches enough to know that you can take a file to the corners and cut off most of the "normally closed" post (take it out completely and the click becomes too loud), but I never thought of stuffing one down inside a tube mod until I saw Pailpoe's e-switch
Pailpoe's switch is beyond my abilities, with no soldering iron, and too little band-width to spare as I study to get a job, but just as a proof-of-concept, here's a mechanical momentary switch which is quite low-profile...I will try to run two screws up through the switch into the top cap so it can be pushed into the tube without having to solder in-place.
Imgur Album
The button came out of a flashlight clicky switch, the hole made with a drill bit by hand.
Of course, where these ideas fall apart is how to run a wire down the tube, and how to make a tail cap that isn't ugly. I will probably use flat wire inside the tube, but not sure about the tail cap (probably re-use the cap off a broken mini-vibe I got the flat wire out of)
