I think it would be a huge functional improvement...

I have never seen a design that is has trouble free and consistent as my kayfun lite... Doesn't leak, wicks like a charm and tastes like a dripper. If one could translate that into a cheap clearo.... $$$$
Mmmm... I'm thinking the whole point of a typical clearo/tank is that they are cheap and inexpensive to operate - in that you toss in a new coil head when the old one goes "meh". New and intermediate vapists tend to like "easy". ;-)
A small diameter Kayfun design (which already exists but not cheap), would be so small in working deck... that it might as well be a Kanger PT3, or the upcoming Innokin dual bottom coil.

If you could more clearly define the specifics, and their benefits, I'll come back for more chat. :)

That's what I'm saying... This wouldnt be an RBA... No deck... Instead of a rebuilding surface... just a threaded hole in which you insert a cheap head very much like the kanger stuff.

For some reason, the siphon effect that the kayfun uses seems to be the key in it's success. Liquid is held above and around the coil and is fed from the bottom.

EDIT: siphon effect + capillary action through the small juice channels

I think I get you now... you want the coil deck to be a bit above the juice port/wick "tip"... so the juice has to wick up to reach the coil. Do I follow?

You're right (I think)... I don't believe there are any clearo/glassos like that. I'm not a big clearo user anymore, so I might be wrong, but as far as I know, none have a upward capillary wicking design like a Kayfun or similar RBA. I suppose a iClear 16/30 is close, but not really, as they are more or less "submerged" as well.

Exactly, you get me.

I am out of the loop as well concerning clearos. I've gone from clearo's to gennies to the kayfun lite 100% of the time now. That's why I was wondering.

The iclears from what I understand are classical top coil clearos. There is no siphon effects in play there.

To be honest, I don't think it's any one thing with a Kayfun or other similar attys. I think it's a combination of the wick/deck design we've discussed, the coils & wicks that we build... and the air flow.

I've modified some iClear 30s (which I feel are the best of the "regular" clearos out there) to increase air flow, as well as fit them with vertical coils and blanket wicks (a major PITA actually - and I don't recommend it)... and they are so close to a Kayfun (in flavor quality) that most wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I'm actually looking forward (weird - I know) to the new iClear 30B - DBCCs. They may prove to be a game changer for the easy replacement clearo coil head folks... if they can provide flavor like the 30 and more recent 30S.
