So, the Solstice is coming up very soon! I am knew and just found the Pagan Vapers subforum. Thought it would be nice to see if anyone has anything special planned to celebrate this wonderful day.

Myself, I will be holding a small ritual, just a solo thing(No other pagans in my area, that I am aware of). I'm just very excited, I always enjoy the holidays!

Have you checked out Witchvox? You may find other pagans in your area that you could connect with. Solitary practice can be very good, and in some ways better than working with a circle - you don't have to adjust to how others think things should be done, and you can have a nice, uninterrupted chat with Herself - but it is very cool also to be among your own kind. The first time I walked into Pantheacon ( I have the great good fortune to live in the city where the largest indoor gathering of Pagans in the US is held every year. Just thinking about it makes me giddy.), I felt like I had just come home after years in hostile territory.

It seems that everyone in my coven is going through some sort of personal crisis right now. I may just go out in my back yard alone and soak in the solstice, myself. I do love the holidays, too. The energy is intoxicating.

I will be recuperating from driving from Texas to Chattanooga. Once I do that, I will hold a small, personal ritual probably Sunday night.

Oh my...Texas to the other side of Tennessee...long drive...Like I said before, always good to ground after a trip like that... As it is I have the joy of going to Florida in August.

I love ritual, but when I'm solo, I always end up going free-form. My path found me in the garden, feeling the growing around me, or outdoors after the rest of the house was asleep, talking to the moon. My path found me gazing into the deep green heart of moss at the base of a tree, or listening to the millenia speak from the heart of a crystal. I didn't know there were groups and organized ways of doing this until I was the mother of teen girls and one of them wanted to cast spells. I knew that there were people who practiced witchcraft and I knew that there USED to be Druids (OK, I was maybe a little out of the loop) and such, but I didn't know that they also communed with the same spirits. I didn't know others who saw the same web, or felt the same energy moving through them. I'm glad I found those others, and I love what ritual evokes, but my most joyous communion with divinity occurs when I just quiet and listen.
