Can flavorings be extracts, like the extracts one buys for cooking/baking?

Well, it depends on what it contains. Most of them contain caramel color or corn syrup but some only list water, alcohol and flavorings. They're weak, too, so a lot more would need to be used to get a good flavor.

I use Mccormicks almond and also their clear imitation vanilla they both work. The almond a little goes along way, the vanilla is weak. The cherry is nasty unless you add sweetener.

If you use it in PG it would make it too thin to vape. You could probably use it in VG juices, but I certainly do not, because they are way too weak. (the ones I have tried anyway)
