I am a bit older I believe. My husband was in Viet Nam. He was stationed on the DMZ. That part is very hard on the wives. You just don't know what is going on, but they do, or if someday you get a knock at the door. I was very proud of him because his brother and cousin ended up in Canada instead. We both lost a lot of friends. We were just kids and so were they.
When he came back finally, seemed like years, plus I was expecting our first child. We went to Germany and traveled around Europe. That was much more enjoyable. Its a hard life for wives and children but also the man serving his country, but I have total respect for people who choose this way of life. It is not easy.
The part I found hardest was watching the news every night. One night they said Dong HA where my husband was, was wiped out. God was on my side that night, he called home and was fine and said that was the first he had heard they got wiped out. How can the reprorters be so irresponsible when there are real people with real loved ones fighting to stay alive. Wars should not be on TV that is my personal opinion.
