Ming drip tip giving bitter-ish taste?

I got an amethyst ming drip tip about 2-3 weeks ago , and so far I have had it on my tank with a 1.8 LR boge carto, strangely it has been very consistent with giving my vapes a bit of weird processed plastic / rubbery / weird taste to my vapes, not sure why, I tried rinsing it out with hot water and that seemed to help a bit, but this weird taste is still there.

Just wondering if anyone else has had an experience such as mine, not necessarily specific to the Ming , I really enjoy using my Ming but I haven't yet experienced this same odd taste with any of my other ( and cheaper ) drip tips...

That is really strange to me. I haven't had that experience and I am very eclectic with my drip tips. I wonder if you might be heating the Oring, making Oring contact with the heat? Have you tried it on any other cartos?

I soaked mine for a week in everclear, got the taste out and now I love it.

I haven't , but I can tell you that wont matter, I have tried different drip tips on the same rig the Ming is currently on and haven't experienced the same "taste" --

Its almost how that really awesome new plastic smell of freshly opened new video game console packaging would actually taste
