mini nautilus with eleaf itaste is very very unenjoyable and harsh. why?

There are now 2.1 BVC coils for the Nautilus tanks. BDC coils aren't going to fix anything, the BVC's have much better flavor & since they have the ceramic coils can handle higher temps, but that doesn't mean your juice can. Higher temp does not equal more vapor or flavor. Start at the lowest settings & work your way up a notch at a time. Lung hits need a bigger air hole, mouth to lung use smaller. If you are washing off your coil in water you are going to vape water for a bit. A couple of priming puffs before firing, maybe 2 - 3 times should burn off the water & get your juice flowing.
2 things
1) the leaf over volts... and i only found this out the other day.
my normal 3.7-3.8v on every other tank is less than that on the eleaf, i have to set the eleaf to 3.5v
so be aware of that.
make sure you are on the proper setting with the eleaf also, by default is is set to wattage not voltage.
click the power button 3 times and it switches between voltage and wattage. just be sure the display says V not W
2) if you re crack glass tanks and not able to take them apart then you are tightening then down WAYYYYYYY to tight.
only snug tighten them, meaning when you thread them on and it hits the end.. STOP.. you don't need to crank on these tanks when you tighten them
the same thing goes for putting the tanks on the device, do NOT tighten them. all you need to do is turn them on until you feel it be snug,, thats it
tightening them just pushes the 510 pin down inside, into the device further. and you won't make any connection at all with the tank.
so again snug is perfect, not tight....
i am shocked you broke the glass tank. this really shows you are going to far when tightening them.
watch youtube about these types of things especially taking tanks apart and such.
the Naut and eleaf are fantastic pieces of vaping hardware, but know what you are doing when using them.
i would never recommend them to new vapors though, unless they were mechanically inclined people.

I've been vaping @ 4.1v/9w on Nautilus Mini 1.8ohm with the istick, never experienced what people call a dry hit. Now I'm curious if i'm running it too high or too low. I'm always in VW mode, started at the bottom and worked up to 9 after I primed the coil on Saturday.
the Naut and Naut Mini and Aspire ET-S BVC coils handle high watts/volts better than any prebuilt coil i have had.
so 4.1v on a 1.8ohm coil is pretty much PREFECT for the Aspire BVC coils.
you aren't doing anything wrong... and dont forget its all about what tastes good to you.
start low bump it up a few steps, try,.. up more,, try.. when it starts to taste burnt or depending on what flavor juice you have, burnt pastries (so to speak) then back down a few notches.
so if 4.2v tastes burnt on the BVC coils i would do 4.0 or 3.9

That makes sense. I haven't felt the need to step up any higher than 9 watts, once I hit that point it tasted great, made nice clouds (I am mouth-to-lung hitter, using small airflow setting though, if that makes a difference)
For me it depends on the juice. They have different tastes at different levels. I not aftrt clouds. I'm all about the flavor
Kenna, could you please tell me where you are seeing 2.1 nautilus coils for sale? If it's fasttech, I think they are generic (from the pictures/no logos or brand). I've always heard that generic nautilus coils are subpar.
I saw it posted on ECF in passing somewhere. Can't find it now. All Aspire shows is 1.6 & 1.8. I use the 1.8 on all my devices. MVP@, Istick, & Hana v3. I know that the istick runs hotter so I have to turn it all the way down with some juices. It ruined a new coil with Sir James in it immediately. I won't use it for that liquid at all.
The first thing I did after receiving my Nautilis 's & Mini's was get the hollowed replacement tanks for them. Still have the glass in the boxes. I knew there was no way they'd last long. The glass lined replacement tanks work great, but be sure you get authentics, the knock offs let the glass slide out of the metal prt. The originals the glass is not coming out of at all. I've dropped them several times with no damage. You can toss the top part, & glass tank of the originals. All the replacements use is the base to the original. Makes filling a breeze.
If I'm reading you right you took 15 hits before priming which has seriously burned the coil/wick - just one 5 sec dry hit is enough to wreck a coil/wick so replace the coil. Sucking without triggering may help with priming but you really need to put 2-3 drops of juice in the fresh coil before assembly and filling then after filling let the thing sit for 5 mins to fully saturate the wick. Start vaping at low voltage and AFC and work up to something you like: for me as a former smoker, with no interest in clouds, I get great results at 3.8V with the standard 1.8 coil on AFC at 1 or 2 using the 4-5sec draw recommended in the Vaping Technique Sticky - you can't use the hard draw smokers use with analogues without overdriving your atty.
As for the stuck glass tank I had the same problem and had to use a rubber jar opener to get it off. The Aspire Tech Support Forum recommends wetting the silicone rubber seal with eliquid to lubricate it but even then it takes a few refill cycles for things to loosen up. To tell the truth, I think the current batch of glass tanks are a tad too small, so a minor QC problem. The SS T-Tank has a gasket at the bottom which makes tightening and loosening easier though it still needs a drop of lubricating juice.
This system works really well and I'd persist with a new glass tank or SS T-Tank. Take a look at Aspire's Tech Support Forum for issues where they even have a video on how to remove the broken glass safely. Good luck with it.
Good news...I was just in contact with smoktek (a WONDERFUL vendor btw), and said they plan on carrying the Nautilus 2.1 ohm coils as soon as their distributors have them available.
I truly think this will help so many people (including myself) with the "overpoweredness" of the istick. The isticks signal also gets 'flatter' as you dial the device up, as well as a little more accurate, per pbusardos review.
The 2.1 ohm coil will definitely calm down the istick. The burnt experiences should reduce for sure. I have no problem having my nice little istick having to "work harder" to create a smoother and more pleasant vape
The more I dial it up, the less rattlesnaky it gets, and produces a smoother signal, but on a 1.6 coil...ouch. Even the 1.8 is on the low side IMO for the istick, unless you like vaping at a (true/RMS) of 5 volts or so. My 11W setting on the istick will become more true with a 2.1, closer at least to my vamo set at 13 watts (which is in rms mode)

I've got the eleaf istick 30w and a nautilus mini and I use it at 15w 5.3v and it's great gorges flavour nice moist vape if I put it at 11w I'm not that kean it's OK at 13 but my sweet spot is 15w haven't had a dry hit what so ever and the flavour at 15w is awesome 70 pg 30vg mix
