Mini Precision Screwdriver, Tube Mod?

Hey ladies and gents, i was wondering if you guys could give me some input on this mini screwdriver i found at walgreens for 2.50usd in comparison to my ego and tell me if there are any batteries that would fit this case. Looks like it could make a nice little mod...

The inside it hollow and the top screws off.

What's the inside diameter of the tube?

The inside diameter is 3/16", depth of tube is about 3 1/2 " before it starts to taper down at the pen end. The threads for the cap look almost identical in size to the outter ego battery threads. Tested by screwing a cone over it, the threads are just a bit more rough but it goes over. Looking at it, I can probably even drill a hole for an ego connector and use that for the switch, or eeven use the pen clip as some kind of mechanical switch.

This would make a really nice piece for work as my company shirts have a front pocket.

if you don't have a 10440, maybe you can grab a AAA battery out of a remote or someplace and see if it'll fit. but if it's really only 3/16" (less than 5mm) ID, it won't work, as minimally you'll need 10mm and that's pretty much the smallest cylindrical battery option.

Whoops its 3/8 which equals to 9.525mm, according to what I Googled a aaa is 10mm

Is the body thick enough where you could use a dremel and widen the inside of it slightly? I would use a drum saning bit or cone shaped honing wheel.

That may be a possibility.

If not, maybe ill just turn it into a nice usb passthru.

That might be better with a PT as the 10440 only has 350mAh, which is half of the smallest of the ego batts @ 650.

There are a number of mods out there using the 10440s. Only thing is would need to carry a couple of extras. But, unless you really want a PT, I'd go for trying to mod for the 10440. But, then again, for $2.50, why not try both.

I don't know if AAA HV rechargeable exist but this's how it looks with 510 tube. So AAA might fits in this mode.

You wouldn't want to build a 10440 (AAA) mod anyway. Horrible cells.

Looks like you can get a 10440 600mAH Li-Ion rechargeable, rated at 3.7v for under $4
