first off thanks to all for the countless help i have received on these forums over the past few year.

I have had my 2.0 for a few weeks and suddenly the performance has gone way down. I have checked the battery and the atty on other devices and they work just fine. for me to get any type of performance i have to twist and turn the battery. sometime it fires and sometimes it does not. The only variable i can think of is that i bought a set of 18500 battery to use. i have been alternating between the 2 and have gone back to the 18490 batteries. really at a loss and advice would be greatly appreciated.

It totally sounds to me like your 2.0 needs a bath and a dose of Noalox. If you take the door down and look at the place where the button meets the top of the battery, you'll see (I'm betting) little sparks after you fire it. That's because the connection is dirty. You should take the atty off, take the battery and bottle out, then run it under hot water and clean it. THEN (this is the important part.) Take a nail file and run it across the tip of the firing pin (push it down so you can get to it) several times....use some pressure....you're trying to scrape the oxidization off of the tip of the firing pin...then apply some Noalox to the tip of the firing pin. I also apply a little to the nipple of the battery just for good measure.

If you don't have any Noalox, you can buy it at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc. It's in the electrical section.....it's to help aluminum make a good electrical connection. That should totally fix your problem and it'll be firing great again. Every month or so, do it again as needed. Here's a video made by Rob that shows how to clean and maintain his mechanical mods:

Exactly what they said ^.

That only happened to me once (in over a year of use) and filing the top of the pin with a micro file (set I bought at Home Depot) and applying noalox cured it.

This maintenance is required more frequently when you vape at >1 ohm.

You should also remove the spring and clean under it and apply some noalox to the screw threads if you haven't ever done that :).
