Been a reo owner for 3 or 4 years and really not sure what's going on with my 2.0. I clean it just like the instructions in the sticky but only last a few days before it stops performing. The only way to get it to make contact is to basically soak it with nolex every few days. If someone could shed some light on this I would be most appreciative.

Out of curiosity how does the noalox wear off? Are you washing the reo? Or maybe try putting a dab on the positive of the battery. I only use it on the positive of the battery I put maybe idk a drop of eliquids volume on, yeah terrible measurement, but I've not had any problems with oxidation doing that. Then when swapping batteries wipe it off old and onto the fresh charged positive.

If it only last a couple days your not removing all the oxidation . I have gone through this with customers hundreds of times . They tell me I did clean You have to use pressure when your cleaning the contact . This happens from letting it get real dirty . They send the mod to me I clean it send it back and they always ask what did you do rob its running great . I say I cleaned it

I didn't have a metal file that would fit in enough to really get the contact done.

I was having issues with firing every few days running a .8 ohm coil.

Finally put a sanding drum on my Dremel and hit the contact. It filed it right down to metal shaving! They flew after just a couple seconds.

That REO fired just like new! Of course I did apply Noalox after the filing!

Since then I have used at least a 1 ohm coil. No problems with it.

I noticed that the firing pin requires more maintenance when you dip below an ohm.

What resistance are you running?

At 1.2 and with the fuse mod, zero maintenance required, zero noalox either.

The new contacts Rob is selling will provide the same (or better) performance but offer the safety and convenience of a spring rather than an Afro engineered solution like I run :)

My new contacts should be here Thursday then it's adios señor fuse for this kid.

I resemble that remark LOL. When I got it back from Rob he told me it was soooo badly oxidized and he cleaned the contact .. I said "but I cleaned the contact often" .. he said "well next time apply pressure to it". Duh on me, I had been doing it very gently, afraid I'd break the firing pin, now I do it HARD :)

I guess I was scared I would file of the metal tip if I did it so hard. I will give it a try and see what happens...thanks to all for the input!!

Yes, exactly what I thought too .. Rob told me to be rough with it, that it's stainless steel .. which I guess means we can't hurt it :)
