so I got the DSE901 from puresmoker, and the njoy npro.

i like the mouthpiece/size/feel of the npro, it's more like a traditional smoke and since that is what i'm used to... it's easier to hold and drag, but that is where it ends. the carts do NOT last long on these (although they are very yummy). I literally put in a new cart (njoy) and it might have lasted an hour or so. that seems pretty weak considering how expensive they are.

the DSE901 seems to produce more vapor, which is nice, it's a bit heavier than the npro, and im still not sure how to hold it, if i hold it like a real smoke, i end up covering the little hole.

so here for some questions:

on both, i have to take a pretty heavy drag to get anything, is that typical? it seems excessively more difficult than a real cig drag.

the npro was working like a champ for the first 5-10 minutes, then it started to pretty much not work. if i take a really heavy drag, i'll get a bit of vape, but if i try to take another within 10-20 seconds, nothing, nothing at all. and now after a day of very light use, it pretty much doesn't work, and i've switched the battery, what does that indicate?

also, when things aren't working well, how do you know if it's not enough juice, the battery, or the atomiser?

and lastly, i'm so confused about how these are smoked. if i try to smoke it like a traditional cig, like taking several drags for 3 or 4 minutes, it just doesn't seem to work under that kind of use (either model, although the puresmoker mini does better). do most people just take a drag or two and then sock it away for later or can you get more with these?

This video may help you a bit:

I wouldn't say the drag on an e-cig is any more difficult than that of a real cigarette, just different. I also have the puresmoke dse-901 btw.

I use mine about the same as I'd smoke any cigarette, a drag here and there for a few minutes... works fine for me. It did take me a short while to get a consistent draw every time though. I let a friend of mine try it who smokes about a pack a day and he couldn't get it to produce any discernible vapor at all.

Hope that helps.

Ok, I'm no veteran at vaporing.

I also use the DSE901 and find the vapor quite consistant. I'm still getting used to when to change the cartridges tho. If you find drawing on the DES901 hard then I suspect you are trying to draw too quickly. Why not try drawing like you would with a cigar, a small primer puff then a long gentle draw. Vaporing has a slightly different technique.

As I say I'm no veteran but given the choice I prefer vaporing any day.

E-Smoking is a learned thing. It's not going to be like a real cig. In time, you will develop consistency with it. It took me some time to LEARN to e-smoke. Now it almost is like second nature for me.

When the e-cig stops producing acceptable vapor, it's generally one of several things:

a) Not enough juice. Dropping a drop or two of juice on the atomizer will confirm if this is the case. If it starts producing good vapor, then change/refill the cart.

b) Not enough power. Replace the battery with a known charged one. If that doesn't work, then the battery level is probably not at fault.

c) Flooded atomizer. Remove the cart and take a few puffs (be careful not to smoke the e-cig dry as this could ruin the atomizer). The taste will probably be bad if the atomizer is too dry. If it starts producing good vapor without the cart, then it was probably flooded.

d) Bad/Dirty atomizer. If a fresh battery and a few drops of juice do not produce good vapor, it could mean the atomizer may require a cleaning. There are several good threads here on how best to clean them.

E-Smoking is really a completely NEW ... addiction. If you try and replace smoking with e-smoking one-for-one, you will probably be a little unsatisfied. But if you hang in there, you will learn what you need, and will easily say goodbye to real smoking and it's drawbacks.

thanks all! i checked out that video before i posted these questions, guess I just have to fiddle around with it some more.

Texas, that's just what i needed to hear. so i guess e-cigs have their own technnique and style. i think i've got the hang of the 901, but the njoy just isn't very consistent for whatever reason. i wish the 901s had options for the mouthpiece, i just don't like that part, it reminds me of a pipe/cigarette holder and it's hard to get used to.

i will say, at least for me, the nicotine is much stronger for e-cigs. i was 2 pack a day on marlboro menthol lights/american spirit menthol, so i should be no stranger to nicotine. however, i tried one of the high nic carts from puresmoker and it about knocked me on the floor. i had to put down the e-cig for a good few hours. i'm now using the low nic carts and still find them to be a bit more than i'm used to. maybe this will make the switch to no nic easier? that sure would be nice.
