I don't want to be the cause of this.
History of this tank:
about 15ml through it - 5 ml of Torque and 10ml of Tribeca
cleaned with water and baking soda when I changed flavors
cleaned with water and baking soda after 1 week and 5ml of Tribeca
cleaned and soaked in 50% Vodka for about 15 hours last evening after another week of Tribeca
Noticed the crack after the soak.

Now this mini tank may have had too small an inside diameter. Each drip tip I tried with it was very tight.
The crack was from the end the drip tip fits into and vertical through 2/3 of it's length.

I am rotating through 4 mini tanks, two at a time for a week of use on the two tanks, before switching to the other "cleaned" set of two.

Is this just a fluke or am I doing something wrong?

i'm not seeing anything that would damage plastic in your cleaning techinque, short of something unmentioned like you let your secret Krav Maga skills out when you decide to clean dishes and vaping gear.

it sounds like it's pretty flukey. could they have been exposed to a high amount of heat or something that may have warped them? i wouldn't put them in a dishwasher, or perhaps you live near an active volcano like most evil masterminds?

I know there is a list here on ECF for Juices that Crack tanks. Search it and you should be able to find the juice you are using. Even if its not on there it could be a tank cracker.

:vapor:
Hi, Niten. I read your point, but as any user of Halo juices know,...
Absolutely NOT.
Doc stated he has been using only Halo juices. Halo juices are safe in any Halo equipment. (and most likely any equipment.)

Doc, It could be the vodka.

I'm just rinsing and soaking my mini tanks in distilled water. I did notice 1 or 2 of mine with cracks like you described. It is thin plastic.

Although some of us get great life from the minitanks, they are disposable, and will not last forever.

We are all awaiting the next Halo hardware sale. When it comes, stock up.

I am not lamenting the cost. I was just not wanting to repeat a problem if I was doing something wrong.
I realize a $4 item is disposable.
I had a mini goal of getting 20ml through one before it bit the dust. I only made it to 15 on this one, but others may make up the difference.

On that note, those of you who use mini tanks, how many do you keep on hand and how much e-liquid in reserve?
Since I am brand new at this, I was shooting for a 3 to 4 month supply. I hope to get up to that with the next Halo sale.

I have about 4-6 mini tanks on hand. They see light to moderate use. Depending on the liquid I'm vaping, I usually try to keep about 3 30mL bottles on hand of my main liquid, and some 30 mL bottles of liquid I'm not vaping daily (I have about 6 bottles total)

Btw I usually only have to buy liquid about once every 2-3 months.

Another cracked today. Only a couple hours in the cleaning stage. I was soaking in Vodka again.
However, I've noticed the two that cracked were the two smoke colored mini tanks.
So far the clear and the blue have not had a problem.
I am going to all clear when the two blue's I have finally bite the dust.

HHMM...good to know that it is the smoked tanks. Could be a bad batch with that color? I don't use mini tanks but maybe others who do can chime in.

BTW, LOVE your banner "My Mom's Experience" . That is awesome

For some reason I remember someone saying the same thing happened on their "smoke" color tanks before.... it would've been a long time ago though so I can't recall.... Perhaps it's the treatment to add that color makes the plastic weaker? I usually used green, purple, red, and clear and hubby always had blue and green, we rarely had problems with them that I recall. I always use cheap vodka to soak coils and mini tanks. I do remember a few getting cracked over time like the drip tip just didn't fit quite right but it was so long ago.. I can't remember exactly which ones

Are you leaving the tanks in a cold car by chance?

Never cold. We live in Texas :)
My mother keeps the G6 on a chain around her neck. Otherwise she is always misplacing it.
I keep four tanks in rotation.
Two in use because that is what Mom uses each day and I can fill them each evening.
The other two I have drying after cleaning for the next week.
When cleaning, I rinse the tanks out with vodka and then soak.
The first tank cracked after a prolonged soak of 15 hours.
So, I shortened the next week's soak to a couple hours and still the crack appeared.
Each time the smoked tank was accompanied with another color tank that was fine.
I do the cleaning on Sunday night and I have no more smoked tanks, so this will be a new test.
