Mini Vivi Nova (2ml) with Stainless Wick

Anyone managed to do this on a Mini Vivi Nova?

I thinking there's not much space in there to accommodate the bends in the mesh?

I have using 400 mesh, 35 mm long by 25 mm wide. I use kanthal wire in the middle and then bend the two ends together and twist that kanthal wire. Then it is up to you how to oxidize, last time I put water on the wick first then oxidized (other time I have done the oxidize and quench) either way helps it to hold its shape very well. Then cut one part of the kanthal and make sure the end you will pull through the wick is straight where you cut and pull it through.

Right now I have 3 minis and 1 regular nova with mesh in them. They work great, but because of mesh can be fiddly at times.

What do you mean by this?? All the vids I've seen show the coil being wrapped around the mesh wick, not through it?

Sorry. After I got the mesh rolled losely I then replace the needle or paperclip whatever you use to help give it shape in the beginning with kanthal wire. I then roll the rest very tightly check to see if it fits in the viva nova head. Once I know it fits I pull the kanthal wire into a u shape and then do the above for oxidizing. Once that is done I then cut that wire and pull it through. Then wrap a coil as usual. Sorry I don't have any pics.

I only use the kanthal through the small mesh hole to help bend it. I tired using paperclips but it would deform it for me. This works better for me, sometimes perfect, sometimes only slightly deformed.

That was my first u shape wick. The ones I make now are more curved so they hug the center post more and fit better in the tanks.

Oh ok, I understand. I'll purchase some wire and mesh then if you've managed to get it to fit in the Mini 2ml tank.

On the minis it will fit a little snug even if hugging the center post, still fits fine may just rub against the tank some. The regular nova they fit very easy.
