I am using 32 ga Kanthol with 5-6 wraps with 2 mm silica and I am getting a .08 ohms reading. What on earth am I doing wrong? For some reason I don't have that issue re-coiling a T3 head.
Sounds to me like a partial short or a really really tight coil. Using the same wire and wick I usually get around 2ish ohms. Are you wrapping the coil around something solid or just the wick itself? Also when you push the center pin in, it is kind of long, so you have to make sure it it not touching the other lead.
I was using a t pin the wrap..tail were mighty long to get them pulled through and well at that. Maybe a toothpick? I have tried a nail before but all of them I have here are too thisck
I found out what the problem was...or at least I think I have. The white gasket plug was not seated in properly. Of course the darn thing ripped when I took it out. Does anyone know where you can get these?
Unfortunately the only way I know to get a new gasket is by buying a new head for it. Good thing they are only a couple of bucks.
Just make sure the picture of the replacement head you are buying matches the ones you have or it won't work. There are two types, one with a flat head from Vision (left in pic below) and one with a pointy head from smok (right in pic below).
