Hi everyone :) Newbie here.

I am looking to upgrade my set up and by the help of another member, I've been pointed in the direction of these tank cartomizers. Now see I vape a juice that would damage the plastic of this tank but I read that there is a tube that goes inside of the tank to shield the liquid? Is this correct?

Also, would one recommend getting a couple of these? Or are they reusable? Doesn't the wick get wet with the flavor?

I think I will need replacement heads or something? Here's the link to what I'm looking to get...

Mini ViVi Nova Tank Cartomizer | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Any wisdom would be great.

Some clarity of information and terminology is in order here.

What you linked to is in fact a clearomizer or clearotank (vivi nova), not a cartomizer or cartotank. The vendor has mislabled the product as a cartomizer on her website. We're talking about two different types of devices here.

For a better description on what these two devices are, please read this picture dictionary that I made for new vapors. Pay particular attention to the descriptions for cartomizer, clearomizer, Vivi Nova, and cartotank. There are video links included, too -

And yes, some e-liquid flavors can destroy the plastic of certain juice delivery devices. I've written an article about this, too -

To answer your question. The inner "works" of a Mini Nova is "rebuildable", meaning those parts of the heating coil head and string wicks can be removed and replaced with a new head. Therefore, you buy the whole tank once, and then also have replacement "heads" to replace the old ones when they go bad.

I've not used clearotanks a whole lot, as I prefer cartotanks. However, I would imagine that with proper care (cleaning and dry burning the coils) you should get 3 - 6 weeks on each head assembly. The outer tank assembly should last months. These are easy to use juice delivery devices that are easy to fill. Remember you need to frequently tilt the device as you vape, especially as juice levels fall in the tank, to keep the wicks wet and avoid dry hits.

There are metal-tubed Mini Vivi Nova's available if you plan on using a volatile flavor that may crack the plastic. Here is an example: MINI Vision Vivi Nova Tank System - Metal Tube

I've heard reports about a pyrex glass Vivi Nova being manufactured by Smoktech http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...6-pyrex-vivi-nova-has-anyone-tried-these.html

Kanger makes the ProTank which is a metal and pyrex clearotank that is quite poplular. The Vivi Nova style tanks are top coil/top filled clearomizers. The Protank is a bottom coil/botton filled clearomizer. The top coil clearos may provide a warmer vapor; the bottom coil clearos may provide a cooler vapor. As gravity assists a bottom-wicked device as the ProTank, you don't have to worry about tilting it frequently to avoid dry hits as you do with the Vivi Nova.

Smoktech will be soon releasing a pyrex clearomizer for around $10.

Big fan of the Protank, and if you are prone to dropping your things, i suggest the Tatroe tank since its much more durable (SS rather than Glass). I have one of each, well, tatroe tank on PT base and a PT. I also have the SMOK pyrex DCT, big fan of that as well.

I am really looking forward to the new SMOK clearomizers, probably going to have to grab a few of those when they are available.
