So I just got some new flavors to try from my local vape shop.
I got Mountain Du (which does taste remarkably like Mountain Dew, if a bit flat) in 12mg (they were out of my usual 18mg) and Dekang Black Tea, 18mg.

The MD doesn't really cut it as far as nic for me, but I love the taste and have been vaping it a lot.

The Black Tea doesn't really do it for me either...vaped it all day today with no real "hit" that I'm used to, not even first thing in the morning.
Tonight I added some of my mainstay 18mg Hilton in with the Black Tea (great tasting mix btw) and BOOM - there it was. About 6 or 7 good puffs and I felt better.

Is it possible that it was mislabeled? Do some flavors give you less nicotine hit? I'm not talking about TH - I get a decent throat hit from it, just not much satisfaction nicotine-wise.

Thoughts on this? I also wanna talk about mixing flavors, but I'll save that for another time. :)

It is possible that a nicotine content mistake was made orangepeeljones. Mistakes can happen, but I'm not aware of any since I joined ECF in April last year.

Flavors do not have any association with nic hit.

For more info on mixing your own juice, you can't go wrong looking in the DIY forum on ECF here.

Hope this helps at last a bit.

well flavoring does lower the nic content but most vendors consider that when they label there juice or at least should be.
i make my own juice and start with a 24mg base and add about 20% flavor leaves me with about 18mg e-liquid.
another consideration is how old the juice is and if they are storing it properly,if it is just sitting out in the open light and not being kept cool the nic will break down relatively fast lowering the nic content.

You add the nicotine in addition to the amount of PG/VG The amount of flavor is factored in to the equation. So if done properly flavors should not in anyway shape or form cause the nic content to be less or more. It is not guess work it is exact science. But this does not mean the juice is mixed properly. If the mixer is using drops this is not by any stretch of the imagination accurate. A syringe is good for measuring once. Now for DYI you are getting close enough to be in the ball park for retail this is exactly why we should regulate our selves. We have no idea if the maker is using an accurate measuring method or not.

there is also the chance the juice is sitting around for a while and the nic has degraded a bit. i notice even when the same streangth when i DIY some of my juices are bit more snappy then bottles of premixed i had sitting around awhile.
also certain flavors while not affecting the nic are light on the bite so to speak.

As far as nic breaking down, check out MadVapes testing here. Seems to me that if you have the bottle closed and out of sunlight, there is only very slow nic loss over time.
