I just am now watching the news of the devestation of Joplin Mo.I have never seen a town of that size literally flattened by a tornado leaving only the framework of the hospital standing.Mo. is no stranger to tornados as I grew up there but I have never seen such distruction.I know many are praying for all who are touched by this catastrophe but please can we in the PIF comunity do anything? Please do not hesitate to ask and I offer anything I am able to that will help.I pray for the Lord to give all affected by these storms strength and faith to get thru this.God be with you all.

My brother lives in Joplin, his home was totally destroyed, he had to be dug out by friends & neighbors. he was very fortunate and sustained no injuries requiring medical attention. I know there is a PIF'er that lives on the same block as my brother and I so hope she and her family are ok. One of my daughters lives in Minneapolis and fortunately her home is not in the area affected by yesterday's torrnado.

From the work I do I understand the devastation and loss that the community is going through, please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank the Lord I just heard from my sister;her and her husband live about 50 miles east of Joplin. They have made preparations should they need to evacuate fast since they live out in the country.I hope everyone waiting on news from loved ones hears good news soon.I am relieved but knowing more storms are coming for the next couple of days has me uneasy but I am just going to put my trust in above that no matter what happens the Lord will see us thru.My sister tells me there are many first responders in the area and more on the way.God bless those who selflessly volunteer in these times when so many need thier help.

I have an aunt in Joplin. I tried calling, and it just goes to voicemail, so the hope is that everything is o.k. with her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those that have been affected by this devastating storm.

ncargrl, I know from my brother the cell service is having problems so that may be the issue. I hope she is safe and sound. (((HUGS))) Please let us know when you hear from her.

I pray for those waiting to hear from family and friends that you hear something soon. Yes, please keep the prayers going that the storms we are to have in the area over the next several days are not that severe so that the rescue/clean-up efforts can move along as well as can be expected without more rain, devastation, etc. Joplin is approx 100 miles east. In fact they were saying that the storm started in our county with the tornado forming between here and Joplin yesterday eve. We have had heavy rain, etc since I got up at 5:30 this morn headed that direction. Rain stopped here sometime ago, but is just now beginning to lighten up some.

I am only about 45 minutes south of there in very northwest Arkansas. I am still in shock at the devastation there & we are flooded everywhere from 6+ inches of rain in about a day during the thunderstorms & countless tornado warnings for about 72 hours straight. I've lived here almost my entire life & have never seen this weather stay for so long at one time. It's calm right now but more is expected this evening.
