aw...i do know about that - unfortunately they don't do fillings or root canals, but i did get my teeth cleaned and a full set of x-rays for really cheap. thanks for helping!

Elana,

You might want to try someplace else. Most dental colleges do much more than that. As LuckyLulu said it is pretty much first come first serve at first but often if it is an ongoing problem, they will start setting up appts.

I started going to a dentist recently who is located in a very small town close to where I live. I don't know if it is just the small-town thing or what, but recently when he quoted me $800 for work that I need to have done and saw me wince; he immediately said that we could work out a payment plan. I would never have even thought to ask him about a payment plan because I inquired about one years ago with a "city" dentist, and he looked at me like I was crazy and said that he couldn't possibly do that.

So you might want to try a dentist out in the boonies somewhere . . .

Sometimes I think it would be easier to just do what my childhood friend did! She got all her teeth pulled out in her late 20's and got some nice real looking dentures for under a thousand. They looked better than most people's teeth and she hasn't regretted doing it at all.. With all the money some of us have spent, I think she might of been the smart one lol

Anyhows, wanted to say you should get a second opinion or simply have them just do crowns if they don't really hurt you.. My dentist told me I needed 5 root canals on my back molars in early 2002, heard it hurts like heck so I told him I don't think soooo. I had him put crowns on them without doing a root canals instead, 8+ yrs later I have had no problems with them whatsoever!! I saved about 4 thousand not getting the root canals that I so badly needed according to my dentist, now ex dentist that is for sure!!

Yanno, that is very true Sylvie - shopping around is a wonderful idea. The city dentist that I mentioned in my earlier post quoted me $10,000+ for the work that I "absolutely needed". It wasn't even an option at that price.

A year or so later, I found my "country" dentist who fixed my entire mouth for about $2000. A lot of the work that the city dentist said was absolutely necessary was not necessary at all. Go figure!

See if your dentist takes carecredit, a lot of them do and some offer really good payment plans, some even no interest if paid within the stated time. And usually much lower interest if you need more time to pay back.
Yes forgot about care credit, I used it for $1800 bridge (that was WITH my insurance!) I am also convinced that NOONE ever leaves the detist with a clean bill of health. You go in for your "free" yearly check-up and cleaning and walk out with a $3000 estimate for all the work you "need".

Forgot to add- How close to the border are you? Go to Mexico! Come home with a mouth full of DaVinci veneers for about $1000.

:( awwww....Elana.. i am so sorry to hear this, i know hubs and I both need tons of work done on our teeth, most of them are 1/2 gone in the back or have holes in them, and cavity rid-in.. and hurts like hell most days, but can never afford the work. So we just suffer thru it:facepalm:. Our kids have and always will come before us.. i just want to get them all pulled and get dentures, but u would never know just lookin at our smiles!:D.. but get up in the grill and OMG!!!! LOL....
Please do not be a stranger i have been missin u already!:2cool:

Does anyone know if Elana got the 801 charger she needed?

I don't know. If you find out would you let me know?

I still don't have an 801 charger yet. I had two batts and one was fully charged out of the two, but it died last night ~ they typically last about a day for me.

Let me know if either of you have a charger to spare.

As far as my teeth are concerned I just got the Georgia HOPE grant so I figure I can use the excess money after school is paid for to get one of them fixed (most likely the one in the front since it is the visible one!). I'm trying to make and sell some crafts/shirts/etc. so hopefully that goes well and I'll be able to fix the two others with money from that.

Thanks everyone for showing your concern. I <3 you all, you sweet thangs you!

I just ordered some chargers today and for some reason I added an extra one. I don't know what made me do it, I just felt like I needed to so I did. If you don't get one within the next couple of weeks, let me know and I'll send it on to you.

Tracey has graciously offered a charger to me, but thanks so much for wanting to help! You're a PIF hero, Jules.

I have a charger I can send you Sweetie. Do you need anything else? PM me your addy.
Tracey :)

Thanks so much for being here for me. Once I get my teeth taken care of I will find a way to repay you for your kindness. You're a PIF hero too, Tracey.
