I just love this country. A government official proposes a new tax law sought by his "PRIVATE" clients and will not even tell the people who exactly benefits if this is passed. And this piece of garbage (well, really, what else would you call it) does nothing to lower taxes, nothing. So wise up citizens big tobacco made a deal and now it wants to change it. We all do that, just be a little more honest about it.

yew mean ay cant get dem dun Decades fer twenny dallers a carten inneymer? this dun be an outrage!

No but seriously, that's really stupid, this is obviously a ploy to help BT by raising up the prices of cheap cigarettes like edgefields and decades so the low income people who smoke them figure "awww welll shucks I caynt get maw dun diddly decades for tew dallers a payuk anymer, theyre just as expensive as them Marlboro cigrits, I might as well smoke them things." which obviously raises BT's profits. Just another wonderful move by the delightful politicans of this great state. I'm just glad I live here so I don't have to pay a lot of taxes on my snus/dissolvables.

I was kinda thinking of Eric Cartman from south park in the NASCAR episode. but now that you say that I can definitely see that too.

but yeah, you know that's EXACTLY why they're doing this, right? here in Missouri, you can get a carton of really cheap ... cigs made by off brand companies for as low as $20 in some of the more rural areas, and believe me, a LOT of people do that. the cheapest cig I can think of made by one of the big three (PM, RJR, BAT) is Pall Malls, so if this passes, I'm sure the sales of those will rise, and BAT will be rolling in it even more.
