What's wrong with TR-001? ...and this might be a dumb question but can I charge two 18350s in one slot, one on top of the other?? ...at the same time as I'm charging one 18650 in the other slot. It's a TR-001, and the only thing I see wrong with it is that it takes quite a while to charge these puppies.

Nothing wrong with a TR-001 in my mind. I used one for about 1 1/2 with not problems.

I don't know about Stacking Two 18350 batteries in the same slot though. I don't know if that is a Good Idea.

I can't Speak for old4570, but I never had any Problems with Mine. Charges Fine. Shuts Off Fine.

I've been on this Forum Long Enough to know one thing. If you look hard enough, you can find Someone who has had a Problem with Anything.

You be sploding alright if you keep coming up with ideas like stacking two batteries in one bay.

Edit. I used the TR-001 for a few months with no problems, got an i4 because I sometimes need to charge more than two batteries at time. The Trustfire worked just like it was supposed to, and now is a backup.

I just Recently Bought an i2 because I like the Fact that it can Charge 1.2v AA & AAA Batteries Also.

And it is a Good Thing I did. Because I also But some 3,200 mAh 18650 Batteries (for a Flashlight) and they are Too Long for my TR-001. But will JUST BARELY fit in the i2.

BTW - 2 Days after my i2 Charger arrived I woke up to see a Thread about a Brand New i4 that Melted Down. LOL

Here's a better review of the TR-001:
Review of Charger TrustFire TR-001
In short, pull out the battery as soon as it's done. Slow for an 18650. and "be very careful with using it in a 230VAC country".

It's hard to tell how good it is; it seems to have been made in several revisions, but no one can tell them apart.

JSYK - That appears to be a Different Revision than my TR-001. v2?

Because mine does not have a Selectable Voltage Switch.

Nothing is perfect, mine has worked fine for 3 or 4 months, just like the TR-001 worked fine. Like you said, you can find someone with a problem with just about anything. If someone was giving away gold bars, someone would complain about something.

I've actually had Very Good Luck with just about Everything I have Bought e-Cig wise. No Real Problems.

But I also don't try to Find the Absolute Lowest Price on things. I tend to spend a Buck or Two more for something from a Vendor I trust.

I knew a Buyer for Target. I asker her how can Target sell things Consistently Cheaper than most Places. She told me that Target Buys a Lot of Training Runs, Over-Time Runs and Runs where a Sampling had Detected Defects.

So sometimes searching for the Absolute Rock Bottom Price Isn't the Greatest Idea.

Anyone can check if their charger is doing a good job, with a decent (not $10-15) multimeter. If your batts end up at more than 4.20 volts at the end of the charge cycle (while still in the charger), that's a problem (it damages the battery).

Problem then is; you need to buy a multimeter (unless you already have a good one), which negates the savings of a cheaper unit...

If I didn't have one already, I'd spend a few extra bucks on a reliable, well known charger.

I think Anyone who uses Rechargeable Batteries should have a DMM.

I got sick of Using my DMM to check batteries (wires tangled in the drawer) so I bought one of these on e-Bay for a Dollar Two Ninety Eight from China.

It Metter fine but the Red Sliding Arm wouldn't Open far enough to Except an 18650. (Who Designs these Things?) So I took it apart and Cut the Arm so it would Slide all the Way Opened.

A Tad Wobbly but Works like a Champ.

That's not a bad idea. Prob is, it's so cheap, you're just not going to know how accurate it is, but... You can always compare results with a buddy that has a good one.

I've dabbled with calibration not too recently; there's always the possibility of a percentage, and/or fixed offset (plus temperature deviations). Pros have their DMMs calibrated, once per year, even with today's technology!

I just Tested a Battery or Three on this $3 Unit. Then tested the Same Batteries on my $200 DMM.

Same - Same

I think they have Simple Functions like Checking Voltage down to a Science. It making something that will Open Far Enough to Except an 18650 Battery that is Hard for them to do.
