I read somewhere that mixing different e-juice is not good, I find some of my best flavors by mixing. any thoughts?

If you like the result I see no reason why not. As long as the liquids you mix are not past expiration dates and you are aware that mixing juices of different nicotine and base percentages will result in a juice different from the originals you will be fine.
Won't hurt a thing. I used to buy a chocolate I liked well and a cherry that I also liked and would vape them separately and mixed.
I started mixing Oak Barrel Cider Pipe Sauce and Cinnamon Redhot into my Virginia almost since the very start -- it gives the Virginia a little more "bite."
Now I mix Blueberry Muffin and Banana Nut Bread -- scrumptious!

I think most have combined and enjoyed. I know I have. Here is a calculator that helped me when combining. It helps you know what you are going to end up with and is easy to use.

My wife is forever asking me to mix some more tribecca-tea-nilla. I don't like the flavor but she loves it. So far it does not seem to be a problem at all.
I mix all the time. Some are good...some are great...others not so much.

I see nothing wrong with mixing your own liquid, as long as you do know what you're doing!
Of course it's very important to have a clean environment when you mix your juice.
But AFAIK PG (and also VG) is bacteriostatic, so even if some bacteria would go into the liquid it would not survive long there.
Another thing to keep in mind:
Nicotine is not a toy! So get to know how to properly handle it before starting to mix.
Apart from that:
Hayppy mixing!
