Are any of you mixing your juice from scratch? I forced myself to do it since I had all this nic I ordered in a fit of 'the big scare' last fall, lol. It's not so bad once you get it down to a science. I usually mix up 20ml of a Marly batch and if I want a flavor after that I just add some using a smaller bottle. I timed it tonight out of sheer boredom and it took 4 mins including getting the stuff out and back into the fridge for the 20ml bottle.

I tried my hand at homemade..some were very good some were frankenflavors! I find that my efforts with loranns were very good with fruit flavors..not so good with the others. I did try some cinnamon from my kitchen flavors..not really advisable because all the stuff like McCormacs have oil in them..but I was desparate. I mixed it with P.G. and a few drops of unflavored nic in P.G. just to say there was nic in it..(probably 1%). It was pretty good.

I have some weird reactions to Lorann's, not sure but they seem to bother my lungs. I like Capella's but I seem to be sticking closer to the tobacco flavors for awhile now. I have ordered P.G. twice and keep getting sent V.G. so I guess I'm destined, lol. I mix the V.G. with distilled water about 30% to 70% so mixing is easier (and quicker, less measuring)
Some extracts are not oil based, make sure you read the labels if you try. I used some when I was in the woods waiting for orders to come in :p

Marg, somewhere in the DIY section is some flavors that are used in Flavoring Cigarettes. (no nic, just flavor) Hold one..I will be back..

Whoo Hoo! I found it: Tobacco Flavorings for Home Grown Tobacco

I have heard great things about it when you DIY tobacco flavors! If it was me I would add a drop of menthol or other flavor for even yummier flavors!
Of course you will need V.G. or P.G. unflavored nic to mix with.

Hi Mary Kay,

I went onto McCormick.com
Flavoring Extracts |McCormick Live deliciously
and looked onto their site about ingredients of their flavorings..

All but the following do not have oil in therm:
Pure Orange
Pure Mint
Pure Lemon
Pure Anise
Imitation Maple
Pure Pepermint

The others don't...

Beyond that, I use Anise all the time and no matter what company you buy it from,, unless it is artificial, it will have oil of anise in it, and I never have trouble with my attys.. I'm getting very leary as to this notion that oil can kill an atty since it never happens to me and my attys last many months...

Well I had a 901 at first, I bought atomizers and batteries like crazy! I mean they lasted me a month or less. Then I was forever refilling. 5 draws..refill, 5 draws refill. What a pain!
My cartomizers last and last..I have yet to lose one. I refill a few times and rinse it out. Then refill and start over. This has been over 6 months..of course I don't use the same one everyday!

My point is 3 or4 hours at least of no refilling..wonderful flavors..or you can get blanks and choose from any store! The batteries from V4L last a good long time. at least 3 months to 4 months for me. I like the extra long.
Ok you asked!

Hi MaryKay,

But... Eventually the fiberfill will go bad.. Then you'd have to throw it out, or try to take a syringe and poke new into them right?

I drip, but have been considering cartomizers for driving. Don't Drip & Drive! LOL :p

But I need to make up my mind cuz I'm going to Key West in a few weeks and I always switch off with my husband in Homestead and drive the rest of the way down.

I DIY with my nic juice, and I love it! I also have LorAnn issues. Some flavors give a yucky after taste, but that's me, lots of other people love them. I tried the "kitchen" flavorings, like McCormick, but didn't like them because the flavoring is pretty week and you have to use too much in comparison to the super concentrated DIY brands out there.

Orion, here's what I do with my carts..take the polyfill out of them, it does NOT have to be that long! Cut it into 3 pieces using a SHARP pair of scissors. Then, fill up the cartridge up to that ridge where the atty goes in. I get anywhere between 10-13 drops in there! Then, just tuck one of the smaller pieces on the top and you're off! I don't know WHY it doesn't flood the atty or leak, but it doesn't and it lasts a LOT longer!!

Hope it helps!! :)

My Cartos get cleaned once in a while. I run hot running water thru the carto from the mouth end with the cap off. I shake them out like a thermometer. Before I recap them I check the filler to be sure it still looks good. The filler will discolor from the liquid..but it should NEVER be black! Thats mold or a burnt carto. I never vape my cartos dry. I have used and cleaned my cartos a number of times. I refill and I am good to go. I am sure they will die at some point...lol!
