Hi all
Hubby and I have been vaping since Wed 22 Dec (12 days in) .... finally finally I am starting to "taste" what it is all about LOL!! Really enjoying it now - some things I have found, perhaps others that are new to this will be interested in hearing.
if you dont want to read my diatribe just skip to the conclusion .
1. Patience and don't give up too easily. I was rather frustrated to begin with- the taste, as regardless of what flavour juice I used they all tasted like black pepper to me. I guess it takes a while for taste buds to heal and start working properly and to also figure out the nuances of vaping. To begin with I was really drawing hard (like I would on an analogue) now I have learned to "sip" ßif that is the right word ?? so that the vapour hits the tip of my tounge slowly and gently seems to work for me.
2. I never planned to QUIT smoking (and still currently smoke between 2-7 per day down from 25p/d) but I am finding my analogue count is on the down and down simply because I am enjoying vaping more. This morning I had a lit analogue burning in the ashtray and found I was happily sipping on my pv.
3. Sense of smell is returning all I want to do is scrub my house from top to bottom and wash every thing!! We imposed a no indoor smoking rule. We have tried this before in order to cut down but found as we both work from home it was not working as we ended up sitting outside instead of in the office working. We now chain vape in front our PCs.
4. Hubby is a severe asthmatic and smoking between 50-60 analogues per day he was having serious lung issues (he is now down to around 10p/d) and no longer getting asthma attacks, coughing fits or using his pump even ¼ as much. I do occasionally find I get a bit of a heavy chest not coughing just feels weird (have read up on this here and I personally just think I am in that adjustment and detox stage). I know my body well and would go to a doctor if I felt it necessary.
5. I am sleeping so much better and have more energy I think hubby is too but I am so sound asleep I would not know any different LOL.
6. Did research and read up here on different juice suppliers ordered from Vaperite (would have LOVED to try some Backwood too but they do not ship international) now that I am gaining a sense of actual taste for the juice I am so excited I may just chew my fingers off waiting on the delivery.
Conclusion: Vaping takes time to transition but when it does you may be shocked and surprised by the results. Dont set the bar too high, take things slow and do lots of research and reading on this forum --- give it at least 10 days if not longer and keep at it, make it a habit.
Each of us have different tastes and time frames, remember what is right for me may well not be right for you. This is all just a path of discovery and we each need to find our own way although the help and info I have found here is AMAZING thank you to every one that has contributed. We all have our own experiences and taste - it is VERY subjective.
Wishing you all a fantastic 2011 VAPE ON!!
