Or istick 40w with Temperature Control

If it was choice between the 40 and the 30. I'd get the 40, even if you don't or wont use the TC. Why, because they are the same price on many suppliers. And you have the option of trying TC out.

That said, I would lean toward a mod with a changeable battery. If only because, when the battery dies, the mod wont be dead also.

I vape at 15watts or less unregulated. I can't give a specific recommendation as the only regulation I have experience with are Kicks in my mechs and the wifes mini. But I do know that my next mod, if I get one, will be a Regulated Squonker. Something like the Inoy 40 or 60 watt....

@AndriaD Where would a buy a battery? Heard so much on fake batteries that I wouldn't know where to look.

Are batteries safe to stock up on?

I got a pair of Samsung 25R 20A batteries -- very good batteries, to judge from how often they're recommended around here -- at ilumn.com, $5 each, and when you buy a pair, they throw in a battery box. ilumn.com is apparently a legit and reputable place to buy batteries; it gets a lot of good reviews around here. 20A are good to get for any of these moderately-high wattage mods -- say, up to about 50w-ish. I never vape over 9w, but I *have* had the experience of my mod turning itself up while riding in my purse (I really disliked the 17w hit I got by accident!), so it's a good idea to buy batteries that can stand whatever the mod can throw at them.

It's not really necessary to stock up on batteries, other than having several or more to "rotate thru" -- if you have more than you actually need, you can rotate thru them and they all last longer. Plus, batteries need to "rest" for a bit after charging, rather than being put straight into use as soon as they're finished charging. But 18650 batteries are apparently used in other battery-operated stuff, such as RC toys and gizmos, so they won't be going anywhere.

Been getting my stuff at DiscountVapers and they have batteries as well. Will do more research on batteries before purchasing any. May end up getting a couple mods. Like the idea of external batteries as well.

Here's some batteries! Illumn is cheap and reliable, and they usually send you a spare plastic case to keep your batteries in. Loose 18650's can be very dangerous if they come in contact with metal, so it's good to keep them in a secured enclosure when they're not in use/on the charger.

MFS had the Invader Mini on clearance for about $25 right now. Small, single 18650 mod, supposed to be darn near indestructible.
Thats a good price. When I was looking for my first real stepup past an ego pen that was on my list but it was about 60 plus I didnt have batts or a charger yet plus severe lack of funds do to lack of work at the time. After this holiday season dies down Im thinking of grabbing one or two to add to the stash in case everything goes crazy. I gotta get some nic and mechs first tho just in case lol.
