Hey yall! I am new to vaping, a week to be precise, and my friend told me to get a Aspire Atlantis for my MVP box 2.0...... Turns out he was misleading me and I should not use it. I have done some research but still need some help. Other then the Aspire CF Sub Ohm battery what can I use? Am I right to assume I can use any battery that pumps out 25+ W? Any help would be nice, excited to get into the world of vaping!

you have two main options, either going with a high wattage box mod, dna/zna/ipv type setup or with a mechanical mod. One thing I would recommend being a week in to vaping is try someone's out first for an hour or so, before jumping into buying new stuff to join the sub-ohm world. The hits will be harsher, hotter and you will likely need to drop down your nic some. I went from 18mg in standard tanks to 12 on sub-ohm builds. Now I have gone down further to 6mg, I'm fine that low on the nic but my co-worker who is much more recently new to vaping has struggled with the right nic level. Also just so you know you can get something like a kayfun built at 1.2ohm which hits really well on the mvp2. Much better then standard tanks on the market imho.
I have 2 of the CF SUB ohm batteries... I love em, they look great, have proven to be rugged enough for a clumsy paramedic and give a great vape.
Id say grab a IPV2S or IPV Mini. Any box mod or mod for that matter than can get you to 30 watts will be fine. As mentioned before, the Atlantis and even the Kanger Subtank are sub ohm tanks and you will probably be doing lung hits. Its a different world in sub ohm than it is in the regular clearomizer world.

Have you already purchased the Atlantis? The MVP is a solid mod that can run lots of good atomizers. The Atlantis sacrifices flavour to give you more airflow. If you have, I'd do some digging on basic battery safety and ohm's law. I'd suggest a regulated box mod that can handle sub ohm. For the Atlantis, I doubt you'd need any more than 30 watts, 40 at most. Mechanicals are nice, but until you're more comfortable with the basics I'd stick to devices with some protection built in.
I don't recommend the IPV Mini as there are many reports of it reading the Atlantis and other coils .1-.2 ohm lower than the actual resistance. It reads mine at .4 whereas my other 2 mods read it at .5. They're releasing the IPV Mini V2 very soon that goes up to 70W. If you don't want a mod with an external battery, consider the istick 30 or 50W.
The tolerance of +/- .1 - .2 wont make a huge impact. As a matter of fact the QC for those coils is a .1-.2 ohm -/+ up or down. My iStick reads the coil off by .1 ohm and so does my Xpro M50. The only way to tell what the real ohm read is using an ohm metter. Even at those tolerances its still within spec.

It does make a difference when you vape at 30W (IPV Mini pushing 3.7V, IPV 2S 4.1V). I understand tolerances and at the same time my IPV 2S and YiHi SX Mini read the coil at .5. May not be noticeable for someone who hasn't vaped Atlantis on another regulated mod that reads at .5. They calibration may be off in the chip, I don't know. Just throwing it out there, folks can make their own decision.

Looks to me that mech mods would be best ~ but also have a friend that has been vaping for years & is starting his own line of box mods, thinking of asking his input and ability to build me a nice one that would be more than capable of firing the Atlantis.
