It's a 510 connection and the battery is built into the base of the unit! The base battery unit can be purchased separately for about 15 bucks. I like mine allot but it does have some limitations. For example, you can not use cartos below 2.0 ohms. For some, that is a non issue, for others it is. Battery life is good but not near as good as you might get from a 18650 device like the Bolt! For a workhorse device, Bolt may be better; for Something distinctive, fun and enjoyable go Switchback. For your first mod you may also consider an 18650 Joytech tube mod! For less then 30 bucks with a charger it is also a good alternative!

Hi, I was in your shoes not long ago. I got a vtube from apolloecigs.com. It uses an 18650 for the full size one and it's variable volt from 3 to 6 volt. I love it and now I have a stainless mini as well. It uses an 18350 battery. For me, it lasts almost a full day before needing charged. The devices are pretty cheap, but the batteries and chargers add to the price.
