mod heating up?????

I have a smock mechanical tube mod and when I hit it it gets hot down where the button is. Is this bad? I pulled out my battery and its not warm at all. But my mod is. Your thoughts are appreciated

My thought is you have told us very little.

Is this your First Mechanical Mod?
How long have you had the Mod?
What Resistance is your Atty?
Have you cleaned the switch?
What type Battery are you using?
Do you mean smok Mechanical?

Not my first mechanical. Been vaping for about 6 months now. This mod is actually new as of a week ago. My build is coming in at a .27. Switch is clean. I'm using an mxjo imr 18650 battery. And I also have a Sony vtc5 battery I use. And yes its the smok mechanical mod.

have you tried another battery? if so and it still gets real hot Id stop using the mod.

Only thing I can think off the top of your head is to make sure the coils aren't touching the RDA. I don't know anything about the other battery but the VTC5, if it's genuine, should be able to take .27 ohms fine. Does it happen with both batteries?

Yea. Happens with both batteries.

How long do you fire before it starts to get warm? Where did you purchase the mod? Is it possible to trade it out for another one? Something's not right. The button shouldn't be getting warm.

The resistance is probably below what the switch can tolerate if there isn't a short.

That mod came out before super subohm was a thing

You may need a better spring.


Carefully with the mxjo. The stated apmerage is overrated by the company and proven to be much lower
