Hello, I'm somewhat new to vaping and have been lurking on here for awhile. I've got an ego 650 battery and clearomizer but bought a nemesis mod with a Stillare rda. I love it and it's by far better than the ego. The only issue I have with it is that I work in a shipyard and can't really carry it in my pocket. I find that when I do the bottom firing cap comes unscrewed and the springs come out. It becomes a lot of trouble having to stop and put it back together each time. I was wondering what you guys thought, should I get a 1000mah ego with a tank just for work or are there any nice heavy duty mods and rba that would be suitable to pocket carry In a harsh work environment. Thank you in advance for any help!

I use my Reos for work and home. They get pretty dirty, but I just wash them out, paper towel dry, replace battery and keep vaping. My battery, a VTC5, lasts all day as does the 6ml of juice the mod holds. I always pocket my mod without problems. I have a nemmy, too, but my issue is that the locking ring will back off and fire in my pocket. Not the best situation.

Thanks guys, I still can't really decide, I can get an ego 1000 with charger, case, tank, and battery for a pretty good deal from a guy at work but don't know if I'd rather spend it on a mod that Id like to use outside of work too. Like a secondary one. Sorry if I'm not making sense/rambling, I just got my tonsils out and kinda going crazy having to stay inside

Personally, I would get a beater mod that I wouldn't mind if it got scratched or damaged. As much as I love the Nemesis, I too find that if I carry it in my pocket that the negative pin seems to back out over time (causing it to autofire if it backs out too much). I haven't used an eGo in a long time and I personally wouldn't want to invest any money in one.

I think I'm gonna go to the shop and look at some box mods soon. I don't really want to invest in an ego when I don't actually want it. The boxs seem more durable and less moving parts. And I would get a holster but it'd fall out/break at some point throughout the day. Im a welder/fitter and have to get in pretty awkward and tight positions many times a day.

Ego for a few years. With the exception of a few mod days here and there. But lately I've been packing the latest edition Billet Box EDC at work. No messing around, just consistent all day! Some days I don't even have to swap the batteries till I get home from work, but I do carry a spare set. The tank gets me through even long 18+hr days

I have the M16 and stingray mods. I don't work in the shipyard BUT i had the same issue.

For the M16 i ordered the magnet kit from Fat Daddy's. It worked like a champ. BUT the firing pin screw came off or became loose anyway. So, i used the slightest bit of pipe tape on the screw and it became tight!

For the stingray,,, it is similar to the Nemesis. I did the same with pipe tape.!! However because it has a pin and the M16 did not I have ordered the pins from Fat Daddy's along with the stronger magnet. Needless to say neither of them the firing pin does not become unscrewed.

I know it sounds weird, but I know exactly what you are talking about. It drove me nuts as the screw would become loose with use!!!

good luck!

let me know if it works.

I am going through the same issue. Commercial plumbing, heavy vaper. You are not alone! Lol. I've went from egos(just not enough anymore) a Innokin VV (may be a good choice), MVP(long lasting, durable, and you can charge your cell phone or other mods with it lol) which I used for quite a while, Vaporshark DNA (was getting too beat up, and very little battery life 1200mah), my mech mods (yea, the lock ring song and dance)and now have settled on the Sigelei 100watt. Sounds crazy, but I needed something with battery life, and it takes two 18650s. No longer worry about conserving battery lol. If the MVP is strong enough for you, I suggest that for work. Durable, semi cheap, and a 2600mah battery. Plus the charging feature. Still carry mine in my tools as a backup, or cell phone charger.

Oh wait a second!
I thought you said the button itself came off, but you actually said the screw holding the button as one piece comes off.
This is a common Nemesis problem, especially Nemesis clones, with a simple solution.

In some cases the screw while in the right position in the button is extruding too far from the button, this causes it to not have tension and therefore come off easily.
The solution is so simple you won't believe it, take the screw off put a little o-ring under it and screw it back on.
If you don't have one or it doesn't fit properly, take a piece of string tie it around the base of the screw instead of the o-ring and cut the excess edges.

Thank you guys so much for all the help. I think I'm gonna go to the shop and look at both the MVP and an ego and see which one I like better. If the mvp really is that durable I might go with that, since it would be a good powered back up that Id enjoy using (plus the charging thing would be nice for sure lol). And nightshard, thank you! It actually came with a few extra o-rings so I'm gonna try that!
