Hi all,

been thinking of switching over to the above coils, have been re-building for some time with kanthal. help some suggestion on the box mod. Uses primarily RTA and some times rda.

Also, read up on temp control and high drain batt. need enlightenment on batt as well.

constraints - medium budget, ease of use and availability

thanks all.

vape safe.

Batteries for temp control mods:
Reccommend Sony VTC 3 and 4, Sony VTC5 appears to be only 20W despite 30W constant current claims on reddit.

Alternatives: Sony 25r5 35A 5s pulse with 20A constant or LG HE4

These should work nicely with 160w tc mods like Xcube II or ipv4s

A great temp control would be the DNA box mods, even low power ones like DNA40 are pretty good.

Safety when using Nickel and Titanium is a priority due to hazards like titanium dioxide, so I personally prefer using Stainless Steel coils on the Xcube2 due to its ability to support SS coils, and it is much easier to work with than nickel builds

If Price is an issue.
Big form factor been hearing great things about the IPV3. 200 Watts and supports Nickel and Titanium Wire.
Smaller form factor I have a Cloupor GT 80 that worked great with Nickel Coils. No titanium support. I haven't needed to go above 55 Watts.
The Evic VTC is a contender. If you dont' need more then 60 watts, Supports Titanium and Nickel, small form factor and built in Battery.

The Uwell Crown Tank with a .15ohm Nickel Coil offers a splendid vape.

Aye!
Evic VTC is a decent mod starter kit. The VTC mini is better due to its replacable battery. The Ego One tank isn't very good though, best is to buy the VTC mod separately and get another tank.

The snowwolf 200w has pretty accurate TC features as well, not to mention the nice aesthetics, despite being a fingerprint magnet.

The Evic Mini only takes 1 removeable battery.
The Evic VTC has a 5000mah battery built in.

The highest [Arguably ] rating on batterys is 3000 Mah but most of the 3000 are purported to only provide around 2800mah.

For Higher wattage vaping like 40 Watts + you really need [Arguably] a 2 battery mod or the VTC which comes in at close to 2 batteries.
Unless you like changing batteries often. Or plan to always be hooked to a USB Port.

So unless you need the small form factor of the VTC Mini, or like changing batteries often, the VTC is a better call in terms of battery life.

Some are not fans of built in batteries but I am, I think that the Mod Makers are able to increase the efficiency's of the Mods
when they have 100% control of the battery being used. The Bats will last at least a year before losing a little efficiency and 2-3
years is not unheard of.

The VTC also has a USB charging port so if you have a long Micro USB Cable you can vape it while charging. This is useful.

The VT is not firmware upgradeable. This is a con.

Pros:
1) DNA40 or DNA200 - I guess I do not need to say why it is the best.
2) Snow wolf - dual batt, consistent and accurate reading. Auto sensing of ni200 or kanthal. Coming up with mini version.
3) Evic VTC Mini - Accurate and consistent reading, lightweight, flawless build, nice screen, bypass mode.
4) Sx Mini M Class - Solid, flawless build. Accurate and consistent reading. Bypass mode. Memory functions.

Cons:
1) DNA40 or DNA200 - You cannot switch it off.
2) Snow wolf - Finger magnet. Fragile glass panel. Auto resets itself every 10mins. Batt in series is troublesome.
3) Evic VTC Mini - Depends on luck if yours is a good batch or not.
4) Sx Mini M Class - Costly. Single batt. Batt cap is troublesome.

Thanks everyone for your contributions. While I agree with @tomzgreat a 2 batt mod would be ideal, but I'm not really build in batt person. I still prefer removable batts

Tank wise - Im flexible

Thanks @Epic_Sinner, will take a look at DNA series too.

The snow wolf version 1.5 fixes the sleep/wakeup issue plus adds a resistance lock for temp control. I would not recommend the v1 for TC at all. Accuracy sub par compared to cheaper offering. Version 1.5 is fine but if you're planning to get this mod, the V2 is right round the corner.
