Nickel vs Titanium coils?

Hello I just recently purchased an evic VT and have been using the Nickel cool that came installed. I have changed flavors a few times and decided to try out the titanium coil to get the full taste of my new juice and prolong the life of both coils by not switching too much. What are opinions on which has better flavor nickel or titanium. And also I noticed how small the juice holes are on the coils I haven't had any problems it's just weird seeing holes that small but I guess because it's temp controlled they can do that? Anyways thanks for any opinions I think I'm going to buy the CLR heads and try nickel builds in them.

I prefer nickel, but you're asking for something that's quite subjective and will vary from person-to-person. I'm sure you already know that and I understand it's still helpful to get input from those who have more experience, but as long as you have a device that can handle it, I would recommend giving both a fair shot to see which you personally prefer. Seems like you're already doing that but if you want an accurate test, be sure to reduce as many variables as possible. Use the same flavor in both and try to use the same wattage if the resistance is right. You could get a hundred responses telling you nickel is better and ultimately decide you prefer titanium. There's nothing wrong with that, again providing safety is kept in mind.

Yeah was just curious as to what people think as I've only been using temp control for a few days, but I am going to be building temp coils down the line and was wondering if it's worth the extra money to buy titanium wire. And yeah I definitely should be using the same juice for comparison I just got so much juice from the expo over the weekend I've been wanting to try them all but thanks again!

I prefer Ti G1 but like ddirtyvapes said it's subjective. I can taste Ni200 and for me it's a PITA to get into some of my RDA/RTA's. I use mostly 24ga and six spaced wraps fits into just about every tank I own and gives me right around .21Ω's (2.5mm & 3mm). The 24ga is real nice to work with and holds it shape giving you a nice compact coil.

It's not that expensive if you pick it up here, $10 for 50 ft and it lastest quite a while.

I think I can taste ni too. Not sure if imagination or not but therefore I prefer titanium grade 1 so far. Let's see if I switch back to kanthal in case kanthal tc is coming.

Yeah I just put the titanium coil in the ego one mega earlier and it didn't really take any time to break in. Does anyone know if they have or are coming out with titanium coils for the sub tanks? I think I may buy another one in white to throw on top of my blue and white evic I think that would look pretty sick

I hope so! But it seems still unsure what the market does in the future. Stainless Steel is supposed to work on the DNA200, maybe also on the devices with a nickel purity menu but it is not as accurate as Ti or Ni as the resistance is not changing a lot (but still more than with Kanthal).

So maybe this is just a bridge technology and we all go back to kanthal? SS can be used (and is used) in regular mods too, so maybe we have one material for both things.

Can I use Titanium in non-temperature mods? Ni200 is not recommended I guess. But this is only because of the low resistance, not because of the material right? So if I do a Ti coil with .3 ohms, I should be good?

I defiantly prefer titanium. Seems to hold up better against highly acidic juices as well.

Titanium easier to build with and doesn't bend up when rewicking. Also don't have to space the coils with titanium.

Question: I got a Snow Wolf 200, will it recognize it that i want to vape it in temp mode?
(i will search for it later @ work now, but if someone already tried it, i would like to know if it works )

I use Ti grade1 24 & 26 gauge in my snowwolf and it works great! I've tried spaced and non spaced.

I have the Evic also, tried the Ni coil but I'm really enjoying the Ti better. I also bought the CLR head and plan on rebuilding in Ti

Hmmmm. So had my evic VT for a few days now (love it). Started on the Ni that was installed. Just swapped it out for the Ti. The Ti seems a tad cooler, and maybe tastes a little better (to me at least). Clouds seem a little less dense (again, to me at least)

Call me paranoid but I have read a few bits on Ni not being ideal with allergies and stuff, so may just buy replacement Ti coils going forward

And here I was browsing through this forum, ready to choose between the titanium and nickel coils, not even thinking about that! Any metal against my skin with even a tiny percentage of nickel will cause a raw, weeping rash. For all I know, you just saved my life!

No problem I guess lol, I'm sure we would have heard something by now if something had happened, but better safe than sorry I guess ;P

I have never tried Titanium. I didn't have a lot of luck with nickel-- I don't like spaced coils much, and the wire's so soft I'd have to recoil every time I wanted a new wick. I am having better luck with 316 Stainless.
