It is becoming increasingly clear that folks just don't get what is going on in this forum, so I'll make it as clear as I can without divulging information that is private to the affected individuals.

An announcement was made and so was sticky. I know, I now no one ever reads the announcements or the stickies... so here it is again.

The Modding Forums are not meant to be a place to sell mods , parts of mods, half completed mods, components , wire or anything else. This forum is intended to be a resource for modding and modders, a place to share ideas, ask questions, and yes even brag.

Several threads have been closed/deleted/removed because the threads became place where selling by PM, email, or offsite link was occurring. These threads will NOT be reinstated for the simple fact that I refuse to dedicate the required manhours to cleanse these mega threads of all the offending posts.

Discussing these mods in the appropriate forum (mods discussion) or getting support from fellow modders with repairing and modifying them by posting in the modding forums is ok. It is how these forums are meant to be used
.

Linking people offsite from ECF is usually not an issue, but until the selling stops in the modding forums I am instructing the staff to moderate with a heavy hand any posts that appear to be promoting the behavior that caused this "crackdown". Though this cleanup of the forum may appear like a new crackdown, many people will attest that this area of was heavily scrutinized not long ago and several "issues" were detected and corrected.

edit: appending information from post #6 in this thread:
The modders that register and become suppliers will have their threads locked and a link to their thread in the suppliers forum added, this way you can continue to get support from them in the appropriate area of the forum.

Anyone who didn't see this coming wasn't paying attention. I wish POC and ooSTURMoo had become vendors like Zen and Shapolin. I'm not sure why Pailpoe had to go but he may have been asked to become a vendor, too. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. @ OS, could POC come back as a vendor or is he banned for life?

Just another point to help folks understand the way things are supposed to work (I'll append this to the OP)

What about the case where someone posts a "bragging" mod and is propositioned to sell? Is this acceptable? I'm not rying to stir anything up, but trying to fill in the gray area, so as to not cross any lines.

If someone says they want to buy your mod and you say " Its not for sale" and it stops there, I don't see how that is breaking any rules on your part. If you say your thinking about it or maybe later then you've opened the door to the possibility. Of course I not a mod. but that makes sense to me.

I have a few questions so I can be clear on what's appropriate and what's not as I am a modder who sells mods and am also registered as a supplier.

So from the OP this is clear to me - If I have intentions of selling my mod I post it in the suppliers forum.

This is not so clear...
If I have a mod that I have no intention of selling but want to share a walk though and/or wiring diagram with other modders can I post it in the modders forum?

If I have a mod that I have intentions of selling - I post it in the suppliers forum, but if I also want to share a walk through and/or wiring diagram for this mod with other modders that I do not want to share with my customers in the suppliers forum can I post about this mod in the modders forum?

OK by closing the Genisis LV and Box Kronos so many of us won't get any information now and if you banned said person we are all screw out of a lot of money as I have $300 in that co-op. Also if and when we do get the parts how will we know how to put it together ?? I know that person will not become a vendor because it's a group of people from German.

Mamu, Thanks for dropping by and posing this question. As the rules currently stand you are in a difficult position and I'm going to have to make some clarifications for folks in your position.

I'll talk with Misty a little bit on this one but what I foresee happening is locking of the existing threads in the Modding Forum and linking them to your suppliers threads for support. That way you can continue to support your designs without breaking any rules. I'll get back to you with further clarification and input from Misty's side of the house.

As was stated in the thread closure, CoOps are a risk. The thread was closed because it is clear that posting is not having any discernible effect. The affected people already know how to contact the founders of the CoOp - so the thread is long dead.

The whole issue of this CoOp is under review and bans might be made but ECF can't force them to check their email and respond. Dead point dead thread.

I also have some questions! I took part in what was presented as a co-op, sending in my payment and waiting along with everyone else. Now that the thread has been closed, what started as a co-op with disappointingly little in the way of updates, has now apparently been written off as a loss to those of us still waiting.

I'm greatly confused that, if this thread was "prohibited activity", why was it allowed to continue for almost 5 months? And now it seems the only way those of us still waiting will have to get any further info would be by oh-so-convenient PM's, or a foreign language forum. (apologies for sarcasm)

Sadly, since the only 2 co-ops I have participated in have now been declared "prohibited" and locked/deleted, I will most likely never participate in another co-op. The word "frustrated" doesn't even begin to describe how I feel right now...
