Ok let's say I want to convert the battery cap from a spring loaded connection to a solid connection. How would I achieve that? I only ever use 18650 aw imrs from provape so my battery size is consistant. I know this is possible as I've seen other electrical devices use a solid mount as well. I'm think earth magnets maybe?

Is your Provari still under warrant? If yes, then using any magnets in the battery tube will void your warranty with Provape. It's about the only thing that WILL void the warranty.

I'm curious to know why you wish to get rid of the spring in the first place? I'm not sure if the Provari spring is a "hot spring" or not, but those are often used intentionally to collapse when a battery becomes too hot and then break the electrical circuit of the battery, hopefully eliminating the possibility of a thermal runaway battery.

I'm not 100% sure if it's the spring causing this but most likely place to start since normal cleanings haven't helped. What's happening is when I screw the cap all the way down I have to shake it and hit the bottom before it'll fire. If I back the cap off two turns it fires. I've tried different caps and springs and can reproduce the symptoms every time. Fairly sure it's out of warranty. If I thought I could pop the press for off and re-glue the board I would.

Have you tried stretching the spring? Sounds like it might need it. A lot. If the board is excessively loose & it's out of warranty, it doesn't cost very much at all to send it in to be re-glued. Loose boards are the ProVari's Achilles heel. The 2 oldest of mine are only about 6 months & both have very loose boards. It doesn't affect functionality so I haven't bothered to send them in, but I probably will just before the warranty period is up.
