The only atty I have modded so far is the nimbus clone from fasttech. it's a 3 pole rda, I drilled all the way down thru the 510 connection going through the center post with a 1/32 bit. I widened the inlet just a hair at the 510 and drilled a hole in the center post, just above the deck for draining and for leaving a little juice behind.

Instead of drilling though the center post you made a tunnel through the insulator? That works fine?

Fine is subjective. It feeds juice fine and doesn't short, I just happen to not like this style of atomizers :)

Advantage and disadvantage is that it puts juice feeding hole right smack on the bottom, as opposed to drilling through the centerpost. It never floods, but can run a bit dry if your wick is covering the juice hole directly. As in, when your squonk, it fills the wick and then drains it when you let go of the bottle.
If you keep the wick away from the hole (like you do with RM2), it works fine.

Personally, I would prefer drilling the centerpost, but without vice and drill press, it would be too tricky for me.

I have and love my RM2s. They are the easiest to build on and have a great vap. Several reason to try other RBAs.

One of the big ones is for fun and to see if you can do it.

The RM2 is chrome plated brass, some people have a sensitivity and want all SS. Rob now offers the IGO which is SS.

Even though the RM2 is priced very reasonably some people need a lower priced option. Rob now offers the IGO which is $13 less than the RM2.

The RM2 is not easiest to get dual coils in because of the position of the posts. Rob is planning to offer a large RBA that will be easier to do dual coils in.

I really wanted to try the Cyclone's airflow control top or AFC. I really like it, it's one of the slickest AFC solutions out there, Rob is going to be offering airflow control rings for the RM2.

Forgot I inherited the Patriot from my son. but I only use Reo's so it was either sell it or mod it. I got board when wind chills hit -50 so I needed a project or two.

I have done both ways. On my authentic nimbus I drilled down the center post. On my Cyclone afc I cut the channel up the center post. I like how the drilling down works better.

The Patriot is huge on the reo. I don't really want to use a 22mm atty on the reo. Which kinda bites since the drippers I'd want to get are all big.

It is wider than the drip well but not wider than the Grand, the door will still slide up. I had one already, if I were to spend that kind of money on RBA it would be A Cyclone/AFC combo as a matter of fact my 2nd Cyclone/AFC is on order.
