I want to pick up some small, cheap, not too complicated e-cig kits for relatives and friends on some of these cheap Chinese websites such as price angels.

My main problem is, I don't want them to like them and not be able to identify the model for extra parts and blank cartridges and such.

I have looked at some guides and saw the type with a little pack to put it into which is what I would like to purchase to get my friends into the idea of using an electronic cigarette. There are others that look like DSE 901's and more than enough EGO models, but I am curious about these.

All I can figure is that the ones where you can see the atomizer in the middle may be M401's and the ones with cartridges that cover the atomizer are likely DSE103. Have any of you used any of these cheapo e-cigs and have any insight?

I am actually wanting to go cheap on these.
These are more a "Here, try this!" novelty gift than anything. I know i can get them cheaply, but I want to know what the model is. I want blank cartomizers or cartridges so that I can fill them with good liquid.

As for the clearos and tanks, I have better luck with cartos on ego, but that's because it's expensive to burn through clearomizers! Hehe.

I would be afraid that if you gave them M401's all you would do is turn them off vaping. I would at least get them 510 equipment with a 350 mah batteries which are longer but still stick like. I would also buy a box of five 510 cartos and give them each one, etc. Then if they take to it, it would be easier to upgrade.

What? Why do you want to give them to people if you don't want them to like them, or continue to use them?

Sorry to early, brain not in gear.

If you re-read his comment what he actually said was... If he gave them something, he wouldn't want them to have a problem getting extra parts and such... A lot of Chinese knock-offs are not interchangeable... They say 510 or DSE901 in the description, but don't actually work with average everyday items we get from regular US vendors. For some reason most of the knock-offs seem to have mystery threads because the manufacturer used subpar tooling to make the product, tolerances are shoddy, and only the replacement atty's, carto's, and such that they sell will fit...

Take a look at Bloog's "Trial Kits". $20 gets you a 78mm 808 battery, two cartos, a USB charger and a $10 coupon for reordering.

Honestly if you want a simple cig-alike that's dead-easy for a new vaper, it doesn't get much better. And they can then use cartos and batteries from Volt, Bloog, V4L, Halo, etc., and fill their own juice from wherever -- the components are widely available.

Thanks for the advice and that all being said, do any of you know a reasonably priced smaller/more narrow e-cig of decent quality?

I would suggest the Volt by Smokeless Image. It's is considered the best of the tiny, short use battery models but it is 808 threaded. But their are plenty of 808 to 510 adapters if they decide to buy some 510 heads for it. They also sell larger batteries for easy upgrading and cartomizers:

I was going to say this or volt's cheap kit from smokeless image. I still keep a couple as a back up to my back up.
