I recently got an e-cig from a friends who quit smoking everything entirely and didn't want it anymore. I know it's just one of those cheap ones but I'm a light smoker and it's been ok for me. I just want to know the model# of it so I can buy better cartridges from a different company if possible. It's about 102.*mm in length and 9.*mm in diameter so I'm thinking it's either a RN 4081, DSE 101, or DSE 103.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not Enough Info.

Is the battery threading female (recessed) or male?
If female could be DSE103, RN4081, 510 threaded (not necessarily 510), or the mystery female threading

If it is female, is the cart a cartridge on an atomizer?
If yes -
...if the mesh bridge of the atomizer pokes out of the atomizer body, then it is probably DSE103 (can use RN4081 batteries), and less likely a 306
...if the mesh bridge of the atomizer does not poke out, then it is probably RN4081
(but either could be the mystery threading)

If the battery is female and the cart is a cartomizer (one piece, screws on battery) - could ne RN4081 or 306/510 threaded (may not be compatible with 510 chargers)

----

If the battery is male, then it is a none of the above and is most likely KR808D-2 (like Greensmoke, Smoke 51 Duo) or KR808D-1 (the popular male model sold by several multibrand hardware vendors as well as vapor4Life and other, and the new style sold by SmokelessImage, Halocigs G6, Bloogplanet)

Yes the battery is female and the cart is male. It's a one piece cartomizer and the mesh bridge does not stick out of the atomizer, the bridge also looks like it has a flat-head screwdriver groove in it like the pic below.
And the threading is thinner than the rn4081, should I just buy a few cheap carts of a couple types and see which one fits? And then buy better quality carts for it of course. Thanks.

Haha.

You have no atomizer bridge if you have cartomizers.

If the battery is female and you think the threading is smaller than RN4081, then try some 510 standard resistance cartomizers. (slim ecigs should only use standard resistance - LR draws too much power and can damage slim batteries)

Do you have eliquid? If you try Boge 510 3-ish ohms cartos (blanks) and see if they work. There are few prefilled cartos for 510. Vaporkings.com has some Chinese juice filled Boges but high shipping. And Volcanoecigs may have some prefilled Magma (510) cartomizers, and LiquidXpress has a small poorly stocked selection of prefilled 510 cartos.

And NOTE!!!! If they work that does NOT mean you can put that battery in a 510 charger or PCC. L88b (aka Trio) and FS510 are 510 threaded but have reverse electrical polarity and their charger will fry a 510 and vice versa.

No I doubt if it's particularly good.

And you don't want carts!!! IF you have an atomizer THEN you can use carts but they have to be the totally correct carts for the atomizer you have. Cart = cartridge = pushes onto a separate atomizer.

You want to know your THREADING. That means you have to try cartomizers aka cartos.

But yes you could probably try these mystery quality Chinese juice 510 cartos they sell

That's OK. Some 1-model shops call anything a cart or cartridge even if it's cartomizer. But when you go shopping at multibrand stores or when asking questions here you have to know the difference to get the right purchase or answer.

3-piece setup
battery + atomizer + cartridge aka cart

2-piece setup
battery + cartomizer aka carto
