personally, I own a Buzz, and it's the only thing I use on a regular basis. I have other stuff here (ego, kr808-d1, kr808d-2, 510 batteries, copper, xhaler, and more), but the buzz is rock solid, and I have had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. at a later date I may have problems, but up to now, it's perfect. I'm also VERY hard on my ecigs.. this thing has been dropped, kicked across a parking lot, dropped, dropped, uhmm.. dropped but not sunk in water yet. this is the best mod I could get when I bought it, I may look into a new buzz pro when they come out, but maybe not. If you're looking for something that will continue to work forever, including after a nuclear blast, go mechanical, something like an xhaler, or a GG, or something along those lines, they will work forever with a bit of tlc and cleaning.

this is just my opinion, YMMV.

Thanks
pat

If your looking for a Lifetime warranty in the literal sense the Precise has a lifetime warranty.

Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

Thought I had seen a couple more but I cant find them atm.

Box mods I would say Reo Grand, only has a couple parts in it. Spring, tube can be replace by yourself. Button, firing pin,510 connector can be sent in and replaced for very low cost. You would use this mod for very long time before any of those had to be replaced. Could you run the Reo over with your car and have it still work? I never tried it but I would bet money on it on an even bet. :p

The mechanical mods will have a lot less things that can go wrong vs the ones with PCB's in them.

There are a lot of PV mods out there hang around the individual vendor forums of the ones you like and ask questions.

Years ago, Augie Bush, who was in his 90's, offered Whitey Herzog a "lifetime" contract with the St Louis Cardinals. Whitey jokingly asked, "who's lifetime - mine or yours?". That's about sums it up with most of these "lifetime" warranties on PV's. They are custom made by individuals and if these people get in a fatal accident tomorrow, where are you going to send it for service. Sure, a few of them may have friends or sons that will take over the business, but personally, I take these lifetime guarantees with a huge grain of salt.

I personally have a GGTB and ATMOS all mechanical PV's. They are built to last a lifetime, but even then, they (as all do?) have rubber or delrin washers and springs which may need to be replaced at some point in the future. Whether those replacements will be needed in years or decades is anybodies guess, but one thing for sure, they won't last forever. What does?

When I started looking into mods I had two things that I wanted. I wanted a PV that I could take to work and not worry about having enough cartomizers and juice to last me all day. I wanted to be able to be confident that my batteries would not run out several times a day.

I looked at the VV mods and saw that my juice problem would not be solved. Why would I want to have some huge battery and a cart to keep filling? Sure they are really sharp, precision made and big, but unless they have a juice bottle hanging off the side, they would not work for me.

I saw different tank systems, but they seemed to have problems of their own. When the battery would not hold a charge you had to replace half the PV.

The REO seemed the perfect choice. I looked at the other box mods that are out there also. But I was sold on the REO because it was mechanical, sturdy, solid aircraft grade aluminum, crafted with top of the line materials, and got good reviews all around. The two sizes available come with a 3ml. or 6ml. bottle for your juice. The 3.7V batteries last a long time.

As you can see by my avatar I now own 5 Reos.

Tube mod to last a lifetime = Precise (though I sold mine), SSGGTS, or Prodigy v3 (there may be others). Anything with VV has electronics and will break sooner or later. If it isn't mechanical and it if it contains any solder or wires or is made from anything other then stainless steel I would not consider it a lifetime mod. I have no opinions on box mods, I don't like them.

I have to add my vote for a REO, great little mod, works perfectly every time, one of the members of REOville, ran his over with his car (by accident) and it came thru it with just a few nicks. Rob stands behind his REOs 100 percent. Take a look at the REO forum, you will quickly see that we are a devoted bunch.

Hi,

I am looking for a Tube mod and a Box mod which is SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE and DURABLE.

If my budget only allow me to buy 1 tube mod and 1 box mod for lifetime, what would that be and why?
Please share your experience and advice here.
Thank you.

Derek

Hi Derek,
First, I just want to give you kudos for asking because lots of us just went the trial and error route

What I can share with you is that I wanted a device that I could pick up and vape as easily as I used to pick up a cigarette and smoke. After a month of dealing with a cigarette lookalike ecig, and the PITA packing every time I had to go out (backup everything) - I finally found the REO.

The Reo is simple, versatile, and durable -- (can use standard 510s - which was a huge factor for me since I had a ton of them) LR 510s, 306s, and 801s and 901s with adapters. These are great options that would allow me to experiment with other atties if I wanted to.

When I finally received my first Reo and loaded it up with a standard 510 -- it blew me away. I didn't think it could get any better! Luckily, I found a thread on ReosMods forum here on ECF called the Reo Lounge, where others were happy to share their Reo experience and vaping expertise. Their recommendations led to my purchase of LR 510s -- which really kicked up my vaping experience -- as well as the LR 306 -- which has become my staple atty and which I love for the warm vape, taste, and tons of vapor it delivers. And I thought it couldn't get any better!?:laugh:

I was also lucky enough to find a cigarette brand flavor ejuice that I love and my HOLY TRINITY OF VAPING was complete!..outstanding PV, the ReoMini, LR306 atty, and a favorite e juice equals a vape experience that gives me total smoking dejavu!

I love my Reos!
Good luck to you and happy vaping :)

Box mod is simple, nothing beats a Reo grand or mini for durability. 100% mechanical and made very high quality anodized aluminum.

Tube mods are a bit different. for durability there are several 100% mechanical mods needing very little maintenance. Any of them would work if you want to include versatility into the mix then its the Empire it will use any battery up to an 18650.

Silver Bullet or Omega for the tube mod from AltSmoke. You can vape at 3.7 or 6v. Simplicity, durability and versatility. Great service from Altsmoke. Box Mod choice would be the GLV3 from Great Lakes Vapor. It can be used with or without the box and feeds juice from top or bottom, your choice. The bad is the wait and it's difficult to find them for sale in the classifieds on ECF. I have 3 GLVs and spent most of my vaping life waiting for the next one to arrive but oh-so worth it. Great after-sale service with GLV also. Good luck.
