momentary switch

Hey yall
It's me
I made a magnum and it worked great, but, as in the previous thread I burned it up8-o!!!!
I just rebuilt a new one but could not get it to work!!! I rebuilt it 3 times using the rs momentary switch. sometimes I would get volts but most of the time I would not. After geting P*&%^$$#@ off I did away with the switch and decided to use just the on and off switch.
Has anyone had problems with the rs switch??

Tankerman--I have used that switch many times and never had any issues but I did go to to the 3Amp larger switch as I found it more viable to mount------Sun

The micro/tactile switches from RS are unreliable. I have gone through several in a magnum mod. I just gave up. As Sun stated, you need to move up the food chain to a beefier (much bigger) switch rated at a higher amperage capacity. If you do this, you will have to come up with a way to mount it on a flashlight. My solution is not pretty, but effective.

LOL call me crazy but 10 year old momentary switches from a a VCR control board!

Yes they still work after 10 years, actually pretty good!
I just cut the board around the switches so I can solder to the bottom leads and then hot glue in place
I got 12 switches off of this board.

Good source for switches. Try pushing one of those buttons 100 times a day for two weeks.

Better . . . push it a 100 times a day for two weeks with 1 amp or more current . . .

I have a pair of bad DVD players I need to toss, gonna take 'em apart first just in case there is anything useful in the boxes.
