I own two Hog's mods and can say the woodworking in them is fantastic. They are well built and the wiring inside is clean. The variable volt is adjusted with an included screwdriver and not a wheel. Not hard to adjust at all, but something you might want to be aware of.

I don't have a wood Reo, but do own metal Grands. Also very well built and function flawlessly. A VV will be available in the next few weeks. I don't have any experience with monkeybox mods.

Feel free to PM if you have any questions about the Hog VV. Good Luck with your decision!

I have had most all of those I would recommend the Metal Reo with a kick. Get the tumbled Grand, and a kick and an aw 18490 battery. I think it's the most portable rig for VV bottom feeding. Getting a Monkeyboxx is amazing, but that is very hard to do these days. He puts them up for sale in the middle of the night, and are hard to get. That said I have one, and I love it and it's beautiful, but it's at home in a glass case while I am at work with my Grand. The Wood Reo's are very light, so if you get one get like ebony, or a very heavy wood.

I have an REO woodvil in purple heart wood. I love it!!! I cannot speak regarding other mods. But REO's are fantastic, and the man that makes them is always available should you ever have questions or problems. There is a huge REO community here, and all of the members are very helpful.

Nothing I can add except....

+1

in fairness to the hog and monkey i have never owned them and im sure they are very nice and they seem to have a dedicated following but i also am a reo man. i personally dont care alot about vv, 3.7 with a hh357 at 1.5 is good enough for me.... oh, and i personally love the reo woodvil 18490s, perfect size in my opinion
