MOONDROP
(Straight Up) MULLED CIDER

18mg, Twist, 75/25 , LR atty, next day out of the mailbox

Color- GOLD

Vapor-good

Throat hit- good

Subtle, medium flavored, or strong flavored- subtle+

Non sweet, slightly sweet, sweet, very sweet - hint o sweet

Is it clean? (Is it free of any, perfumy, soapy or chemical like notes?)-yes

OVERALL RATING (Bad, ok, good, great) good

MY EXPERIENCE & OPINION YMMV

After mulling this one over awhile........

It's a light tobacco, with a light apple cider flavor with a tad of ashiness at the end. The flavors are blended pretty evenly. You don't get APPLE! or tobacco!, just a mellow smooth mix of both. Straight up lol.

tobacco preference list from Moondrop:

1. Smith Barn Sticks....over time this one won out. I found myself reaching for it most.
2. Straight Up Light
3. RY42 as the bottle says, or ry4.2 as the site says
4. Straight Up Mulled Cider
5. Hummingbird Wine

$5.95 for a 10ml bottle, $12.95 for a 30ml and it's available in different blends including 100%vg.
Shipping is $6.

Use code mars for 10% off your entire purchase.

I was thinking of ordering some straight-up caramel and the straight-up menthol... I have been out for some time now... and moondrop makes great liquid... that tobacco base is like no other... so dirty... love it.

I am diggin' the dirty. Moon drop is coming soon!!!!

p.s. I just love that website!

Over my two years on ECF, I've read many posts expressing disgust with tobacco juices I knew to be made with Tobacco Absolute. Posters wrote something on the order of: "Eeeewwww. This juice tastes like licking a dirty ashtray." I recall thinking, "Gee, that sounds pretty good!"

Yeah, baby. Dirty, ashy---Yum!

I would like to know the precise nature of that greenish, oily film slime that TA leaves behind in the empty juice bottles. It takes industrial strength degreaser solvents to get rid of that stuff, and afterwards I'm too scared of the toxins from the solvents to re-use the bottles. LOL.

Are their tobacco flavors extracted or artificial flavor? Also, are any of the tobacco flavor have any after taste? Most importantly, no earthy taste to it is there? Thanks if you can reply back. I might consider ordering from them to give it a try.

I haven't had the juice before, but I know that one of its ingredients is Tobacco Absolute. So, technically it is an extracted tobacco, or rather, there is an extracted tobacco in the juice that tastes more like a super concentrate than a normal NET. Does it taste earthy or have an after taste? TA as an ingredient can be construed as dirty, ashy, perfume-like, and when handled by the right juice maker, awesome! Once again, I have not had this juice, but Ogredog says, "Is it clean? (Is it free of any, perfumy, soapy or chemical like notes?)-yes."

I can attest from personal experience---for whatever that's worth---that Mulled Cider (or "Straight Up Cider," as my bottle was labeled in Moondrop's early days) is as clean as a whistle. Assuming that Paul hasn't changed the recipe with the re-naming, the juice is very nicely balanced between apple cider and tobacco. They dance together without either leading the other, although the apple hangs around on your tongue and in your nose long after the tobacco fades out. The juice tastes almost as if it had been warmed on the stove, but other than the cider-ness, there's no taste of extra spice added---no obvious cinnamon or nutmeg. It's apple cider and tobacco.

While it's not as important with this juice that you love Tobacco Absolute as it is with the other Straight Up blends, it certainly helps. If you actively don't like TA, Moondrop's tobacco blends are definitely not for you, since the uniquely characteristic taste of Tobacco Absolute shines right through, since Moondrop uses it liberally. I can't describe the taste ("dirty" and "ashy" do come to mind, but they're not really flavors), but it's instantly recognizable and quite unlike any other synthetic tobacco flavoring or naturally extracted tobacco. I guess that's why they call it "Absolute."

Well described, thanks. How are the other non-tobacco flavors?

Do MD's tobacco juices need a certain level of steep time? Even if they don't need it, has anyone noticed a drastic difference good or bad from the original tasting? I am stoked to try these.

My last purchase from Moondrop was more than a year ago, so my memory may be flawed, but recollection suggests that the Moondrop juices I have didn't change at all with steeping. They tasted good right out of the mailbox, and mine still taste good (and the same) today, more than a year later.

That bit of information is HUGE! Thanks
