I've been vaping on and off for a long time and I always go back to smoking because I get mouth sores. I am not allergic to pg. I use it in all my products and I've used 100 vg juice before and the same irritation occurs. Sometimes it takes days, or even weeks for sores to develop but I don't want to give up vaping. I just went out and bought an evod and some decent juice. Feels great to vape again, but the mouth is irritated at the spot where the vapor hits my mouth. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Could it be I'm using too high a nicotine content? I'm using 18 mg. I really don't want to go back to smoking ever again.

Stuart you ain't crazy, others have reported this as well.

I have had a couple of outbreaks but wasn't smart enough to note if they were tied to a specific juice or not.
I do know that I don't clean my drip tips enough--which I should prolly do regularly

I have some Orajel on hand that gets me through that but even then for me a canker sore is a small price to pay versus going back to cigs.

Here is one thread on the subject---search "canker sores" or "mouth sores"

I've gotten them too. I use 18mg. After a long vaping session I rinse my mouth with salt water or peroxide and water. Many people say it has to do with not smoking cigs. Cigarette smoke is acidic and coats your mouth killing bacteria. I don't know if I buy that explanation. They are painful to deal with. I always try and cut back on vaping when I get them. Sometimes I switch to 12 mg. Do you vape custard like flavors? I seem to correlate my sores with these flavors, but then again I could grasping at straws here.I always switch up sides of my mouth when vaping, the same spot over and over again does give me an irritation. hopefully you can get through this, good luck!

I'm guessing that these sores are developing on the roof of your mouth, just behind your front teeth. It happens to me when I vape heavily at times and what I have noticed is when it happens, I usually have been hitting my vape in a more vertical position, rather than horizontal like you would a cigarette. The vapor cools and turns back to a liquid and collects on the roof of your mouth if the tip is to close. Try doing more of a throat hit and see if that helps. It helped me alot

I vape out of the side of my mouth and the irritation occurs on the left side where the vapor hits. I'm gonna try to do more of a throat hit, like you said. Thanks.

The irritation is only occurring on the left side of my mouth. I had a few cigarettes out of frustration and realized that for my whole smoking life (23 years of smoking) I had been smoking so that the left side is where the smoke would hit. So now I'm vaping with the left side closed and the right side completely exposed. So far, so good. Wish me luck.

I thought it was because of PG but now I know that one reason is because of the ingredient used for the flavor. I have one ejuice (555 from MBV- 50PG/50VG & 12 mg nic) that would make my throat swell with a lot of canker sores whenever I vape it (reaction is almost instantly/within the day). I don't know what's in it but that is the only ejuice from MBV out of more than 20 ejuice I bought from them that had this reaction to me.

I am also getting mouth sores every now and then but I think it is because I am not hydrating myself properly.

I have one of these atm in the back top roof of my mouth, didnt think vapeing caused it but now im not so sure. my ear nose and throat doc said its prolly nothing but best be safe an have an oral surgeon take it out just in case. I vape alot, on mostly mechs and rda's, now on a sig 100 watt, and have switched to mostly diy juice that is has natural flavorings in a higher vg blend. Another symptom I have noticed is that my left eye twiches alot since I started vapeing and surprisingly I found a thread about many vapers saying that this is known to occur. It has stopped now but It happened quite regulaly for about a month, enough to be annoying.
