So I recently purchased a SS Vtube mini, and yesterday I was on the Lavatube noob thread discussing some things when someone posted a link to this "Super Ego variable voltage" battery. I went to take a peek and the vendor happened to be less a 10 miles from me so I was curious enough to place an order and go pick it up today. There isn't a great deal of info on the specs for this thing, but it's made by Trueman, which is the company who makes Riva I think. The battery is 650 mah and adjusts from 3.0v - 6.0v in 0.1 increments. Has a blue led display that shows voltage, number of puffs, and battery life by of # bars. Basically operates just like the LT. I have nothing to measure the output so I can't verify what it's really operating at, but I can say after just a few hours of use it damn near stacks up to my Vtube and outperforms the twist IMO. I just bought a new red 650 twist and this battery is probably a full inch longer to accommodate the LED display. It doesn't use a regular ego charger, rather a tiny usb that plugs into the bottom of the device but you have to remove the end cap.

This was not a review as I'm not qualified to give one, but I'm liking this thing so far. I'm sure the next 2 versions we will see some improvements but this is where the industry is headed and expensive mods will have some serious competition from overseas soon.

Here's the battery Super Variable Voltage eGo

The best part is the price of $31.95, and with a 20% off coupon it was like $26. Like I said, move over twist.

I've read that this isn't an actually Joyetech product. I'm reluctant to buy at this moment.

No it's not a Joyetech and I don't blame ya, but neither are Riva or KGO batteries and everybody loves those. My KGO 1100 batteries last longer and hit harder than my friend's Joyetch 1000's. Since this battery is the first on of it's kind (so-to-speak) there are probably a few things that need improvement, which is the case for every new item this industry introduces. For one thing, the button stays on for half a sec or so after you release it so I have to remember to keep hitting it unless I want to hear the tsssssssss sound of my carto or atty still heating up juice after I take it away from my mouth. And the puff counter is kinda useless to me, especially because it keeps counting when you use the 5-click protection or anytime the button is pressed accidentally. But for the price I had to check it out considering I just shelled out about a $120 for the SS Vtube kit, a safe charger, and extra batteries.

hmmm, so yea i want a vv but was deciding between ego-t mod (upgrade kinda like a vv but not 3.4or4.2 i think) or twist 1000mah... this vv seems really cool but like onizuka said not a joyetech

I think there needs to be a smaller Ego than even the Twist 650.. then there'd be a serious winner. This looks even bigger than that. I guess that's why the twist went with the dial on the bottom, to save whatever space they could.

yeah this thing is about the size of a twist 1000 with the LED display. I think they should all have more functions like checking resistance, voltage under load, etc to justify the extra length. if they made any smaller than a 650 using it at a higher voltage would run the battery out too fast. I'm sure by next year they will have wifi and GPS too haha

Not Joyetech. And I have seen alot of reviews on the LEDS draining batts.A 650 the size of my 1000 twist just doesnt move me at all.
The 900 will be available soon but not sure how long. If you are happy with the twist no point in rushing out to buy this. The main reason I picked one up is to compare it to the vtube I just . Also the vendor is local for me so no cost for shipping and no waiting on . Plus I had to get a couple vivi nova tanks anyway. I just realized those were just over $ with the code. Sweet.

Yep, and it's longer than the Twist 1000 which some have wished they would have went with the 900 instead because of the size. The main point is that you can get the same wattage with the TWIST using 1.8-2.4Ω attys/cartos at 4.8V vs. the suggested 2.8-3.5Ω at 6V.

The Twist has the new short and charge protection too - I don't think it has to move anywhere ;) Catchy line though...

A little off topic here, but I just went to autozone so they could diagnose my check engine light and threw away a jack in the box bag while I was there. right when I left I realize I didn't have my nifty new device and started thinking the autozone guy snatched it from my car. Luckily I went back and found it in the trash can. not quite sure how I spaced out and didn't notice I threw it away . Especially considering the length with the vivi tank on it. Lesson for today: don't throw away your PV. Get a second lanyard.

The difference is current draw. I'm sure the twist has an amperage limit just like this and the Lavatube at 2.5 so i don't think it will run low resistance stuff at 4.8V. A 1.8 ohm atty at 4.8V draws 2.6A with 12.8W power. But a 2.8 ohm atty at 6V only draws 2.14A to put out the same 12.8W. Not to get into a VV discussion or anything, I just use the sweetspot calculator hehe. Not many people need that much power to vape, but this give people the option to try HV without having to get a LT, charger, extra batteries, and adaptors. The twist is great and isn't going anywhere just yet but it's cool to see this is where manufactures are headed. There will surely be an onslaught of similar devices hitting the market that will be smaller and better than this. But for now the $26 I spent was a hell of a lot less than the budget spent on the VTube. The 900 battery is on the way, we'll have to see how many more inches that one is though!

Wow! On the autozone thing! :thumb:

And yeah, on the current draw - the Twist amp limit is 3.0a, btw.... but that isn't a consideration for most - not that it can't be important in the long haul on the batt and the short haul for the attys/cartos but for me, anyway, there are other factors that rate higher on relative importance. There are many with 6V VV's that have them stuck at 4.2-4.4V's  but the choice is nice, I'll grant you that.

Today the battery lasted me about 7 hours time in which it counted 120 puffs. Seems about the same amount of time as what the 650 twist gives me. I'm just glad they didn't decide to call it "puffing" instead of "vaping".
